hi im running 4.08m 1946

i was reading that that doesnt update to latest dgen, much searching later and i cant ork out what the latest dgen file version is, nor where to get it?

i assume this i well worth having if i wish to create a dynamic campaign?

Head on over the mission4today.com and pick up the Enjoyr Dgen patch. There are several different versions, based on if you have certain 3rd party add-on packs, specifically Battle Over Europe, Ostfront, and The Last Days. Of course, there is one for those that don't have any of these.

You can find the one you need Here.

It will update the dgen.exe to the latest version, which is 4.0.8.7, or something to that effect. Also, it will give you several new careers to play with, for instance much better PTO campaigns, so new Eastern Front campaigns.

Also, there are some skin downloads that you will need for the new campaigns, which are found in the link above.

THANKS ILL LOOK INTO IT, id like ostfromt and tld but they cost as much as il2 1946, n fact more, which is a bit ott imo

Yeah, you don't usually see a discount on those 3rd party add-ons. Most likely it's an economic reason, if a store buys a a large stock of IL-2 1946, they can give it a deep discount. The 3rd party add-ons don't usually get sold like that.

Every now and then a copy shows up on ebay for cheap, or perhaps there is a copy at a local store that is discounted to sell, so they can get it off the shelf.

If you can get them, I highly recommend Battle Over Europe and Ostfront. You need Battle Over Europe in order to have USAAF, Luftwaffe, and RAF DGen careers on the ETO maps (Normandy, Ardennes, I think NW Europe as well), and the Ostfront focuses on the Kurland and Murmansk maps, and is well done, IMHO. The Last Days is good as well, but I haven't gotten into it as much as the other two. There are other 3rd party add-ons as well, some that are Dgen, others that add static campaigns.
