Like the title suggests, do you know of any good MTO campaigns? Preferably suited for lower end computers. Or battle of crete?

What kind of computer do you have?

I was able to play these campaigns fairly well, with the occasional slow down:

Luftwaffe Pilot: Afrika! - by FlatSpinMan. Flying the Bf109E-7

The Dust Devils – by PhilK. Flying the P-38

The Fighting Cocks – by PhilK. P-47D-27 in Italy. This one I had to scale down my graphics a touch to get acceptable frame rates.

That’s off the top of my head. Oh, there are 4 campaigns flying for the RAF by Billy Pryce, the are called Desert Airforce:

Part 1 – Ace of Aces (Gladiators and Hurricanes)
Part 2 – Shark Nose Squadron (Tomahawk and Kittyhawk)
Part 3 – Spitfire Offensive (Spit Mk Vc (2) and Mk VIII)
Part 4 – Mustangs Over Italy (P-40M, P-51B, and P-51D-20NA)

I’ve only tried the first one, and it seemed to run fine on my PC. Not sure about the rest.

My computer is a 2.8 Celeron with 1.5 GB of pc2700 RAM, a Nvidia FX 5200 128mb video card, onboard sound, and a 7200 rpm 200 GB hard drive. If you can match or beat these specs (really not hard to do these days!) you should be fine.

EDIT: These are all at mission4today.com

Oh, I see. Well, some of the ones I mentioned might be worthwhile, they only way to see is to download them and see how it works. The PhilK campaigns tend to slow down a bit on my system, so you might want to pass those up. There are a few missions with several flights in the air at once, with less then agreeable weather.

Give the Desert Airforce ones a try. The first one ran with little or no issues on my machine.

I used to fly 46 on my old laptop too. Ace of Aces will probably run OK, but you may get very notable stutters sometimes when several aircraft spawn mid-mission (I did at least).

One campaign I'd recomment is The Blue by bird_brain. It's basically the same theme as Ace of Aces (early N. Africa with Gladiator/Hurricane). I liked it and don't remember any big fps issues.

Edit:
Here's M4T link for The Blue

The Blue is also based on historical events in the Libyan desert taking place during the Battle of Britain. The RAF had GLadiators and single Hurricane that they completely defeated the italian AF with. Very accurate and well done. I highly recommend it, as I do all of Birdbrains cmpns.

You can fly the same campaign from British, American or German sides. The missions are challenging because they were all written evenly balanced so it's a tossup who's gonna win. I only changed the AI level and the altitude advantage when swapping sides. Good luck, it's a tough one.

I may redo this one eventually since we have the correct aircraft now.
