It seems to me that they only work between midnight and 230am (on the new Battle of France/English Channel map anyway-its actually dawn at 3am !!!) and they are not very good at finding you anyway .AND heavy flak is REALLY useless in the dark too especially if it raining etc .I can fly over a battery of 5 or 6 88s and 4 or 5 searchlights at maybe 3km alt at 1 am and NOTHING happens ....Is there anywhere with the full details on this FMB behaviour or does anybody have any tips /Thanks .
(And PLEASE no jokes involving electricity bills or searchlight workers unions ....!)

Surely you should be asking the creator of the map himself at the mod site you got it from ?

Ones that are for your side will only turn on and shine at enemy aircraft. Ones that are neutral will shine at any aircraft.

In a mission in my 2nd Air Pirates campaign I messed around with searchlights in a twilight mission set around 19:30 hours. The searchlights work then.

Also, cloud and weather conditions affect AAA and searchlights.

AAA got a reaction time, you can trigger AAA by making a single aircraft fly over your route in the reverse direction (its also good to simulate recon activity)
