Is it possible to have the mouse wheel control zoom in or zoom out on a map? So far the only way I can do that is by pulling the left slider up and down which is cumbersome.
Thanks. |

I've been using the FMB since day one (lost track of how many years that is) and I agree that it can be cumbersome.
I asked this same question here just a few weeks ago, hoping that by now someone had found a way to do this. However, it looks like it's not possible. The bit in bold, you're almost there. If you hover the mouse cursor over the left slider bar then scroll it will zoom. You don't have to be right on the slider handle, anywhere in the bar will do. --------------------- Regards, Tully Joysticks & IL2/FB/PF | IL2Sticks Utility IL2JoyControl Utility | See How It Flies |

I think most people who use the FMB already know this...but it is still cumbersome. For someone like me, it is even more so. You see, I prefer to play IL-2 in a 4:3 aspect ratio on my LCD widescreen. So, when using the FMB, the mouse cursor actually 'disappears' into the non-rendered areas on the left and right side of the screen. In other words, the mouse cursor does not stop when it reaches the left edge of the map, where the slider is. It is a real pain to relocate the cursor and hover it over the slider. In a normal mission-building session, I easily use the zoom function dozens of times. It's not the end of the world, but it would be so much easier if the zoom control was linked to the mouse wheel. If you watch this video by flying nutcase you will see him use the mouse to create a box and it will zoom in the map.
He does it a couple of times in the video. To zoom out you will need to use the slider. I have to hold down the shift key and left click when I do it. http://www.il2-fullmissionbuil...estruction-brush.php The video is for a visual example only. Wheelsup |
