in FMB? There are times where I'd like to set up airfields in areas different from those set up on the maps. Is that possible? Thanks!

Yes. They are under stationary ships.

Make sure you place them on flat ground. You will need to remove chocks to takeoff, just like on a ship.

Ok, I see that now. But I can't get planes to land on it. They fly off to the nearest airfield, not the one I set up.

You will need to assign the airfield as a target for the landing waypoint, just like if you were to set up a carrier landing. Otherwise they just go to the nearest airfield.

If you want to be able to taxi around the airfield, you will have to put several (4 to 6) "invisible" runways next to each other (no 4). I normally do it by carefully positioning a couple of visible (no 3) runways next to each other, then convert most of them to the invisible type. Position trees, fences and or vehicles to make sure ppl do not go beyond the boundary of the invisible runways.
You could also use two visible runways next to each other and have two flights take-off together. All this only works if the terrain is totally flat though and that is usually close to a river or the coast...
