S!,
I was fooling around w/FMB and noticed when trying to create a multi-army DF mission, I wasn't able to dictate the proper colors for AAA or ground targets to be destroyed. Is there a way around this issue? I wanted to do a fun mission where 3 sides are battling each other. Each side has its own base which is protected by AAA. When assigning the side for the AAA, I have three options - none, red, and blue. The same thing applies to ground units and targets. Additonally, I'm curious if this is an issue for IL2 Server Commander. I don't have the documentation in front of me for this question, so I thought I'd go ahead and ask here. NOTE: I've tried doing text edit by changing the objects identification (0=none, 1=red, & 2=blue) w/o success. Any other ideas? Thanks, HB _________________________ |

When you place an object within the radius of a 'Homebase' the object will take on the nationality of that base without you needing to change it. I've noticed you don't even need to change an 88 mm flak gun, for example, from Blue to Red if you place it on a Red homebase.
Just put your guns and objects etc within the radius of the base and it should work fine. If you want to place things beyond the max radius for a homebase, then I'm not sure there's a way around that for armies other than red/blue. |

This is only true if you have one color Home Base on a DF map. Once you add a different color Home Base to the map, red and blue AAA units on the same Home Base will shoot at eachother. Example: -------------------- [MAIN] MAP Empty4b/load.ini TIME 12.0 CloudType 2 CloudHeight 700.0 army 1 playerNum 0 [NStationary] 0_Static vehicles.artillery.Artillery$Bofors_40mm_UK 1 19807.76 45675.86 360.00 0.0 0 1_Static vehicles.artillery.Artillery$Nimrod 2 19707.21 45700.13 360.00 0.0 0 2_Static vehicles.artillery.Artillery$Nimrod 2 17217.08 40891.45 360.00 0.0 0 3_Static vehicles.artillery.Artillery$Bofors_40mm_UK 1 17134.39 40930.05 360.00 0.0 0 [Buildings] [BornPlace] 3 3000 19451 46455 5 3000 17039 40290 [Bridge] [House] -------------------- PS-Heinzbar, I replied to your thread on the other site. S! Aviar,
I responded at the other site as well. I think if we figure this out, we can create some really unique missions. thanks, HB |

As far as I know, you can't have more than two sides faced off against one another.

The stock DFs which come with the game seem to work just fine with 16 different sides using the method I mentioned.
Each base is protected by flak, which is either all 'red' or all 'blue', but which takes on the ID of the airfield eg pale blue, green, yellow etc. I guess to stop the AA killing each other you just have to make them the same colour, although the stock mission seems to have just taken the default colour and uses only German or only Soviet AAA at any one base. |
