Seems like it helps, because it changes the date of the last post, indicating a change was made, which was.

Here is an organized, filterable guide to the FMB objects up to 4.03:

http://www.sturmovik.de/oe/index.php

You can, for instance, filter out all winter objects or show nothing but winter objects.
I have a shortcut ot it on my desktop and have it open during mission building. When I need to find an object I minimize the game, find it using this invaluable guide and then mazimize the game.

Is it possible that different types of installations would result in different lists of objects?

I'm using FB+AEP+PF+4.03m, and there are several places where the object showing in my FMB does not match what's shown in the above mentioned site. For example, my object 177 is a target painted in white on the ground (conecntric circles + arrow head), while in this web site its a GAZ-67 Jeep.

Also, the site above metiones 422 objects, while I have 455.

Does this also affect how other people will see missions created by me?

Thanks,
Shmulik.

The current game version is 4.04. Quite a few new objects were added in the last patch.
The link I posted is only current up to v.4.03.

Everyone will see the objects you put in your missions IF their game version is current. If you add objects from 4.04 and the player only has 4.03 the mission probably won't load, citing an error with the object(s) not found.
Just make sure when uploading a mission that you state what version the mission was made with. Generally if the mission was made with a version previous to yours there should be no problem, excepting AI routines which change sometimes from patch to patch.

Hope this explains your question.

Actually, I checked before AND after patching to 4.04m, and as far as I could tell, no objects were added to the ObjectNNN list. Perhaps they were added in other places.

Looks like RxMan's document is still valid for 4.04m, but the web site mentioned in the above link is out of date. They don't say which version was used there - it is almost certainly below 4.03m.

The 4.03 objects list is still current for 4.04. The numbers match the objects which is all that matters to locate them.

The .mis file does not reference the numbers in the Objects list, so when they change it has no effect on completed missions. I think missions created in the original FB v1 will still run with no changes. I know that the ones I made in 2.04 work fine. Happy

Well, having 4.05m since the day it was released I've just noticed this lot:

Objects 432-441 are new with this add-on. Dummy guns, planes and tanks. They have pushed all the objects after down 10.

Cheers!

The "Object Explorer" database www.sturmovik.de/oe has been updated to feature the correct numbering for all objects up to version 4.05m.
Please update the initial post. Thanks

I deleted the 4.03 object list above, to make room for the 4.07. (IL-2 1946)

New Object List 4.07 M$Word (.doc) file, zipped

BTW: If you have already printed the last list, the changes start with OBJ 432 (page 21).

The link between page 1 and page 2 seems to be broken, click on the last poster's name in the right hand column of the forum for page 2, and on the topic name for page 1...........
