I played it. You did a lot of things in this mission I don't understand.
Why did you put a test runway over a real runway? I would get rid of it. If you use the test runways mention that the player needs to release chocks to takeoff. Why are the Zeros in the mission wearing German markings? Why do you have a friendly AAA gun at the target? What is the target? You tell the player almost nothing in the briefing. I dropped my bombs at the target icon and hit nothing. You have the player flying to sea 60km after takeoff and then turn in towards the target for another 60km. Most people won't want to fly all that distance for no reason. You need friendly AAA at teh home base to defend the bombers for landing. Your airbase had nothing to make it look like a base. Put some planes, tents, buildings, AAA, trucks, oil barrels, etc. Your target had nothing either. Go and look at some other people's missions and see what they do to dress up their airfield so you have a feeling you are at an airfield. Do the same with your target. I understand English is not your primary language. Have someone who speaks English edit your briefing. Tell the player what the target is and what altitude to fly at. Why are the Zeros in the mission wearing German markings? That was a mistake Why do you have a friendly AAA gun at the target? well in development i forgot to get rid of it What is the target? You tell the player almost nothing in the briefing. I dropped my bombs at the target icon and hit nothing. If you read the breefing it says the bridge over the river You have the player flying to sea 60km after takeoff and then turn in towards the target for another 60km. Most people won't want to fly all that distance for no reason. I found it gave me a better angel of engagement. It is my first mission so there are bound to be errors I will try and get an updated virsion up soonI will try and keep the test runway as I love it |

My fault on missing the target description in the briefing. I read it again and it is not as clear as it should be in my opinion. I have found that many people do not read briefings carefully (myself included sometimes). One thing you must make very clear is what the target is, so just say it - "Bomb the bridge".
You gave the player ten 50kg bombs and the loadout is locked. For bombing bridges I would suggest 6 x 250, 4 x 500, or 6 x 500 loadouts. The 50kg bombs are too small. You tell the player to watch out for AAA, but you don't have a single enemy AAA gun on the map. You can shorten the mission and still get the angle you want. Have the player takeoff and fly due east until they get to the angle you want them to approach the city. This will cut 40 or 50 km off a very long mission. Use a destroy bridge target on the bridge you want destroyed so that they player knows they hit the bridge if they hit it. Put some trucks around the bridge as additional targets. If you really want the test runway move it away from the real airfield. That is why they made these for the game. There is an old saying...'Be careful what you ask for..you may get it.' But seriously, I've been building IL-2 missions for over 6 years and I'm still learning new things. It doesn't happen overnight. BTW, I actually looked at your mission a few days ago and found everything (and more) that Zeus-cat has posted. So, don't think that he is somehow 'picking' on you. Everything he listed is a legitimate issue. I am adressing all the issues that he posted and i am working on V2 so hopfully alot of issues will be sorted in V2> I still have alot to learn

Zeus is a very experienced FMB guy, as I am. I have used the test runways a great deal with the actual ones. I have used the matt runways right next to the grass ones to simulate a newly matted one where they were flying out of grass. I did that in my cmpn im working on (20 mos now - see the post I made on my 1947/48 cmpn near the top of this page).
http://forums.ubi.com/eve/foru...0910533/m/8791000676 I just found this older post that shows some airfield stuff I did much better. http://forums.ubi.com/eve/foru...0910533/m/4831001086 (Keep in mind that I used the skin mod to put skins on static planes. 0 I put the matts next to the grass one so both could be used. That way i can have Corsairs/51s etc launching at the same time my P-80s are. Good for scramble misns. You can also use a combo of invisible and other runways to create effects like taking off out of a revetment (see above reference again), but that takes a great deal of testing, as they are of slightly different elevations off the ground. While extra objects make a base or target etc really look more realistic, but keep in mind that the frame rate is affected more by the number of types of objects rather than the number of objects themselves. EG: It's easier on a computer to draw 20 of 3 types of objects than to drew 5 of 30 types. Anyway, keep in mind that players will want a clear and fairly concise briefing (though mine get a bit long sometimes as I like to tell a story along with my cmpn misns. Putting vehicles etc by a target like a bridge or building helps as you can assign the AI to atack them which will hit the main target as well if they are close. Dont overdo the AA. I make most of mine MGs with some large guns like 88 or 85s etc, or maybe a few 20m,25mm, but very few (maybe one on a base) 40mm, as htey are a bit too effective. I mainly use AA as an effect for realism, so I try to use stuff that will put on a good show but be survivable. Only a few guns are needed to have this effect. Play a few more of the misns folks make, and you will find what you like and what you don't like. That always helps you learn the FMB. And you can always ask questions here. Our honesty should not be misread as contempt. It is to help you learn this quickly. ------------------------------ Sleep tight tonight, your Air Force is......awake! |

thanks dude just one question what runway is the mat runway?
|

i mean like the concreat is test runway1 ect

All the Test runways are considered aircraft carriers.
You will need to set the target to attach the flight of planes to it just like an aircraft carrier. Test Runway 1 is a raised concrete runway. It is 1.2 Kilometers long. Test Runway 2 is a raised Marston Mat runway. It is 1.0 Kilometers long. Test Runway 3 is an almost flush to the ground Marston Mat runway. It is 1.0 Kilometers long. Test Runway 4 is an invisible runway. It is 1.6 Kilometers long. At the end of TR4 there are white corners to help you see the length of the runway. You have to zoom in close to see them. If the planes take off in the wrong direction you will have to rotate the runway to get them to take off in the right direction. Wheelsup |
