Hi, I am trying to design a populated map to post on hyperlobby. As I am really new to this I am trying to make it as basic as possible then work on that. I must be doing something really basic wrong perhaps you can steer me in the right direction! I choose a map from the load option of FMB
2 I choose a home base and write the long and short description
3 I select properties make it allied (and heres where I dont get it)
4 I look at the aircraft available and choose get all.
5 If i load that format into the hyperlobby shouldnt I get a map with a homebase that I can choose to fly any aircraft from??? What else needs to be added so I can get to this basic stage?
Thanks Jim. [/IMG]

You only use a 'Home Base' when you are making a Dogfight map......you know, like the Dogfight servers you see on HL. Those are the bases players will spawn from. The planes you 'add' to a particular base will be the planes that will be available to fly.

If you're making a single-player mission or a coop mission, you don't use a 'Home Base'...it won't actually do anything at all in that case.

Thanks but I still am confused. I want to host a mission on hyperlobby enabling me and my friends to use any plane we like. I want to be able to attack any ground targets on that map. How do I start to build a mission like that. What basics do I need? Jim

This is a nice guide to get you familiar with the FMB. However, you will need a good amount of time and patience if you want to learn all about mission building.

Being a teacher by profession this type of comment really irritates me, as I bend over backwards trying to get my students to feel free to ask any question, telling them that there really are no stupid questions (only stupid answers).

If you have a question, always feel free to ask it, and most often the answer will benefit many of those hearing it. If it is a question that everyone else knows the answer to does not make it stupid or less worthy of asking.

James, you will find that most folks here will answer any and all questions respectfully. Don't let one disrespectful response stop you from asking your question.

good hunting to all,

Thanks, I guess he just had a bad day. Normally the guys on here are just great. I think the problem is as we get efficient we forget how hard we had to try at the beggining.Achillies_Nz answered my request and in a couple of emails sorted me out. I now have a fully functioning website, missions and maps at the ready and feel pretty confident I have most things figured out. Thanks guys.
