i don't know enough about computers to do all the stuff your talking about. is it possible to just go into the fmb, put in some planes and ships and some targets, and click play and play the game? i've tried to do that but all i get is nothing on the screen except what looks like clouds or fog or something. but nothing shows up.

You need to pick the specific plane in question and check the "Player Aircraft" box (or whatever is says).

ok, i did get it to work once. but when i go into the objects box and pick a plane the "player" box aint lit up where it was for the one flight i did make and save. so i can't pick the "pilot" box. so how do i fix that?

Probably because not all planes are flyable....
