Excuse me for asking, but have you ever actually joined any servers in HL?
I see that you are asking a lot of very basic questions lately and I think that if you simply went to HL and joined a couple of DF servers and played a couple of coop missions, you would probably get a better idea of what the differences were...compared to what somebody may tell you here. Coop Mission: Must be hosted by a player (although there is one automated coop server that I know of). Players choose a slot on HL and then the host launches the game (so, everyone joins at the same time). Players then choose a plane, read the briefing. When everyone is ready, the host starts the mission. If you die, there is no respawning in a coop. If externals are on, you can stay and watch the action. The host decides when to end the mission. Dogfight: Hosted by a player or a dedicated server. It can be on for many hours or even many days. Players join the server, choose a side (RED or BLUE), read the briefing/rules and choose a plane. If you die, you respawn at your base. You can usually switch sides anytime. Unlike a coop, players are joining and leaving the whole time the server is running. It's basically one giant, long 'mission'. It's more of a 'map' than a 'mission', although many DF servers run software that simulates 'objectives' and keeps track of 'targets'. This software can also rotate maps at scheduled times. *Again, I think you would get a much better understanding if you simply joined some of these servers yourself. If you ever see me in HL, page me and I'll help you. However, I recommend you get TeamSpeak, typing just won't cut it. Hi, Thanks for being so patient. This is always the problem for new guys. Most players take everything for granted and forget when they started what a maze it is. I have been on hl, I have posted other peoples existing missions, none of that shows me how to do what I am asking, it just shows me what it looks like when someone else does it. I built missions using the single mission builder fact sheet from the manual but nothing in there tells me what to do if I want to build a mission with moving objects and what to host it as etc...etc...I am quite capable of populating a template map but I just need to know where to start. What would I have to put on a map so that when I host it in the hyperlobby I can choose what planes I want, attack what I want and have others do the same???Jim

There are no moving objects in a DF room, so then you want to try coop missions. I posted a link to an FMB guide in your other thread.
You need to follow that guide and slowly learn how to build your own missions. How far you get will be determined by your own dedication. You're lucky that you have a guide and this forum. When IL-2 first came out, I had to teach myself how to make missions. There were no guides and nobody to ask. If you are serious about mission making, then it will happen. Nobody else can do it for you.
