hello
i recently acquired il sturmovik 1946 and i bought a joystick too, so far ive only played some quick missions and then started with the full mission builder which is really nice..but i got this problem, i make a lot of tanks to go from point A to point B then i put some planes and i want the planes to destroy the tanks so i put ground attack and then in the objects tab i select Target and choose destroy ground and set it to 100%, however when the mission starts the planes dont attack them, they just fly above them and sometimes if they attack them, they just crash against them so yeah, thats my problem i hope someone can help me..also could someone tell me the coolest or the most immersive single player campaign youve played, it doesnt matter which country you play thanks ah yes one more question, when i set the airport as a home base there is another tab in which it shows availabe planes and something else i cant remember, there it shows all the planes in the game i believe. does that mean i can call for air support while im already far away? if it,is then explain it to me, thanks :d |

I'll be quick and try to explain some things for you.
Setting "home base" is really just for coop or online missions and doesn't really apply to single player missions. The selection of planes is to limit the types of planes to be used in that mission. In your ground attacks...which planes are you using? Also, are they flying too high? it's possible they are too high and cannot see the tanks. I'm not sure about why they crash into the tanks. Maybe they're in kamikaze mode...no waypoint after the ground attack waypoint? If you haven't done so, provide a "landing" waypoint after ground attack. There are many missions you can download from mission builders like me. Just goto Mission4Today or Flying-Legends (links below). *** 80% of all German casualties in WW2 were on the Eastern Front. dieje,
I want to correct you on part of your post----> "...in the objects tab i select Target and choose destroy ground and set it to 100%..." You need to read your manual. This is not what 'Destroy Ground' means. The 'Target' selections (Destroy Bridge, Destroy Ground, Escort, Recon, etc.) are NOT commands you give to planes. They are objective parameters, which will determine the outcome of the mission (Success or Failure). So, 'Destroy Ground - 100%' means that 100% of valid enemy objects within the Target Circle (which can be re-sized) must be destroyed for mission success. Hope I made that clear enough. Check this link for help with the Mission Builder: http://www.il2-fullmissionbuilder.com/index.php In fact, this part of the tutorial describes the Destroy Ground parameter: http://www.il2-fullmissionbuilder.com/destroy-ground.html Aviar ----------------------------- Intel Core 2 Duo E6700 Asus P5N32-SLI SE Deluxe 2GB DDR2-800 PC6400 Dual nVidia 7900GTX 512MB Creative X-Fi Logitech X-530 5.1 Speakers 22" NEC MultiSync FE 1250+ Logitech G15 Gaming Keyboard CH FighterStick-Pro Throttle-Pro Pedals TM Tacticalboard GoFlight GF-T8 Module ----------------------------- |

yes any of the "target" things such as "destroy ground" are for you to set an objective for yourself, they will not tell the AI-controlled planes to do anything. to tell the AI planes to destroy tanks, set their waypoint over the tanks and set it to "GAttack" and the be sure to set another waypoint somewhere else, if you don't set one after the "GAttack" one then they will kamikaze into the tanks or whatever the "GAttack" waypoint is set over.
I find that tanks aren't really much fun to attack, they're very hard to spot on the ground. instead I like to set up an airfield with a bunch of stationary planes and trucks and some AA and buzz over it blowing stuff up. ----------------- Farewell to freedom in the Adriatic and to the days of wild abandon. |
