I used to be able to save games and reload them. Now when I save a game, even though it says saved successfully, I cannot load the latest file. My last save was at 12:50 today, but when trying multiple times to save a game after that, there is no file later than 12:50. I am running Win XP Pro 32 bit; have the 1.03 patch; I checked the saved games folder and see the saves I have from 12:50 and before that, but nothing after it. I tried uninstalling/reinsatlling FC2 and kept the saved folder, but still can't save anything.

Any ideas?

How many saves do you already have? Maybe clear em all out (put on USB?) and try it again.

Your HDD isnt full is it?

I have over 400 GB free and I have about 10 saved games at about 5M each.

So....did you try clearing all old saves out? (then trying to save)

And please, dont start dismissing odd things to try. The base of knowlege is experimentation at it very core. That is a good place to start.

It looks like the save file is corrupted. Again do a fresh install of FC2 from scratch. You must also 'manually' delete the entire saved game folder e.g. from My Documents\My Games\Far Cry 2 etc. Uninstall FC2, and use any registry cleaner before installing again. Did you PATCH the game in between the gameplay, or after some game progress ?

Also manually delete the entire 'Ubisoft' NODE from the registry path, before going for a FRESH install e.g.
Hkey_Local_Machine\Software\Ubisoft\Far Cry 2 etc. Though this is not necessary, but it's highly advisable.

The 64 bit Win XP path is: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ SOFTWARE\Wow6432node.

But first try the given method as told. Delete all the saved game files, and then try saving/loading the game.
