I know I am probably going over old stuff to all of you here involved with this area, but I have tried doing searches and even going to ubi support for an answer with no luck at all.
I play the single player game in hardcore...no pc problems at all. Whatever vehicle I am in is the slowest one. I can get in an assault truck and be caught from behind in seconds by a car. Once I was in a new truck with no damage running wide open and was caught from behind by a 'big' truck that was smoking....wtf. I guess I must be the only one on the planet that doesn't know how to deal with this...would someone please fill me in....I can't tell you how much I would appreciate it. |

Hi there,
Welcome. Nah, you are Not the only one who observed this. Even I was trying to figure this out earlier, but what I think is, maybe this relates to the 'Scripted Code/Values' of the game ? I mean maybe it has been done like that, and hence the speed 'values' are different for the player and the enemies ? But others can correct me if I'm wrong. Even I'm not sure about this, so please DON'T rely on this reply of mine. Wait for others to throw some insight on this. But I think it's scripted like that for the PLAYER, the 'values' for the vehicle speed and the damage taken etc. And what the enemies drive, maybe the speed of some of their vehicles is faster than the player's ? Just a thought. But what if the player drives their vehicles ? Hope I didn't confuse you ? This message has been edited. Last edited by: KingDaniel0, |

Hey KingDaniel0,
Thanks for the response...my biggest problem with this is the main question "why?"....I think a player could have much more fun if the vehicles were at least evenly matched....I look at the speedometers and the assault truck runs about 100....car I think is 60 etc etc....why would anyone with any gameplay experience allow someone to drive a 60 mph car in circles around a 100 mph truck just because the player (me, you, whoever) happens to be driving..makes no sense....I believe someone making decisions had the wrong job.....maybe that person will do us all a favor and quit or shoot himself or something.... by the way...I'm no genius by any means....but takes more than this to confuse me.. Thanks again.... |

This is a guess, but possibly in HC mode it is harder to escape another vehicle? In lesser modes, they seem pretty evenly matched in speed, but FWIW, why even run? just hit the C key(PC version) and shoot them full of holes.

Ricamundo,
I'll have to try one of the other modes to see how that is. The reason I play games like this is so I can put some whipass on the ai...but in this game you gain nothing by killing anyone...they all come back so fast seems like you're just wasting time and effort and ammo to stop and kill someone that will return in a few seconds or minutes. In the original FC you could go back to the end of a level and everyone you killed and everything you destroyed stayed that way...imagine that...dead guys actually stayed dead...it was an accomplishment that meant something. There are a couple of places in the game that all you need to do is get through the checkpoint to get to your buddy and help him out...you bust through the checkpoint at 100 and their truck is on your butt in 2 seconds...if you do the math on that their truck would have to be able to run about 300 .... what a joke...for some reason this feature of the game aggravates me to no end.....I feel like if I could 'fix' this I could really almost enjoy playing it...I know, I guess I'll just have to go out and get a life somewhere... Thanks for your info and commments |

Use a buggy, no damn protection but damn fast over terrain that cripples jeeps. you are right about the speed though. They try to flip me off the road so I wait till one comes alongside then spin the wheel and ram them into a tree or rock!
