Hi, hope this is where you want bug reports!

I'm running the Steam version of FC2, on XP Pro SP3, A64 X2 4200+ (@2.7GHz), 8800GTS 512, 2GB DDR400, and using the nv 178.13 drivers.

Getting BSODs referencing either nv4_disp.dll or Win32k.sys when loading a savegame (haven't noticed it in normal play yet). Anyone else having issues with the Steam version? Mine's also only listing ~3.5GB for the game's install size - I thought it was supposed to be ~12GB installed?

Any advice would be appreciated!

Ok, heres my situation. I play FC2 for about 20-30 minutes and my framerate drops from 60 to about 5 and the only way to fix this is to reload the engine. I dont know if anyone else is having this problem. My specs are as follows.
Vista 32
Intel Q6600
3Gig DDR2
Intel Extream Mobo
Nvidia 8800 512 GTX X2
500GigHdd
HT Claro Omega Soundcard

All drivers are updated. No crazy background tasks running. Non-Steam version.

I am also having keybind issues... I setup KeyPad 7 to move to other seat in vehicle and KeyPad 4 to exit vehicle and neither work, had to map them to none KeyPad keys... whats odd though is some of the KeyPad bindings work. Very querky.

Also, can we please get the game to allow being able to run and strafe at same time? Kinda corny ya stop running just because you strafe.

Far Cry 2: Steam Version
Vista 32 (although, OS doesn't matter for this bug report)
GeForce 8800 GTX
Intel Q9550 2.83GHZ Quad-Core.
4.00 GB Ram

There is an issue that several people I know have had where the game will play smoothly and then freeze for a few seconds, and then go back to playing smoothly. The freezing occurs roughly every 10 seconds.

The Windows Performance graph in the Task Manager shows the CPU usage going to 0% when these freezes occur. You can then see that the issue happens at regular, specific intervals.

This made me believe it was network related. I disabled my network card and the problem immediately went away.

My personal theory is that this is a problem with SecuRom, or another component of the game phoning home. However, that's just a theory.

I had no problems installing FC2 (via Steam). Everytime I play, the game works fine for ~10-15 minutes, then crashes my computer (just instantly restarts with no warning message). I just installed the newest ATI drivers today as well as updated to Windows .NET Framework v3.5.

Specs -
Processor: AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 3800+, MMX, 3DNow (2 CPUs), ~2.0GHz
Memory: 2046MB RAM
Page File: 595MB used, 3345MB available
DirectX Version: DirectX 9.0c (4.09.0000.0904)
DX Setup Parameters: Not found
Card name: Radeon X1900 Series

I'm not running the game on anything crazy. 1440x900, with mostly med or low settings and 2xAA with HDR off.

DX10 not working.

Lag on intro screen, Menu.

Did not test game because well no point, as its slow as hell, one frame takes up to 7 seconds to show. Took me long enough to go back and setup DX9.

Here is the dxdiag

Hey...
My game is working sweet except for at a short distance away i have weird rainbow colours everywhere on trees and walls untill im standing right infront of the texture then it goes to what it's supposed to be, plus it seems i have textures missing as theres little floppy disk signs on some textures and other textures just plain dont match like pink wheels im running everything maxed out with 4xAA 1680x1050 im running
CPU - Q9300
GPU - 4870x2
MEM - 4G 800mhz
MOBO - Asus p5q pro
PSU - OCZ 600w
Please help im sure the rainbow effect would be good if I were on some sort of 60's rave drug but at the moment its just killing immersion thank in advance

The implementation of widescreen video modes in Far Cry 2 is flawed. The game will crop and scale a 4:3 frame to make it fit a widescreen display, instead of horizontally expanding the frame like it should. This means users of widescreen displays and multi-monitor setups will be missing viewable area at the top and bottom of the frame. This has a number of negative effects on gameplay; in particular, it makes driving very difficult since the visible part of the vehicle takes up more than half of the screen height.

The overall effect is like watching the game through a mail slot... it feels claustrophobic and cramped in spite of the wide-open outdoor spaces. 2kgames made the same mistake with Bioshock, which they later corrected by adding an option to the video settings that switched the rendering from vert- (cropped 4:3 frame) to hor+ (expanded 4:3 frame). I was hoping developers had learned that this is not the correct way to do widescreen, but it looks like this practice is still hanging around... I sincerely hope Ubisoft patches this quickly, or provides a workaround of some kind.

See further discussion and comparison screenshots demonstrating the issue in this Widescreen Gaming Forum thread.

Just got the game and installed twice now. The problem is that when I launch the game nothing happens! It never starts but shows the splash screen for a brief second then nothing. It looks as if my hard drive is trying to access something but nothing is happening. Please help!

Once I use a mounted machine gun on a truck or wall or where ever it's "mounted", I can't switch back off of it, I'm just stuck! I have to actually reload a "save point" and just not use a mounted gun. I've tried everything.. pushed every key on my keyboard... it's a glitch or something.

I've twice been kicked to my Vista desktop with looping audio while playing MP. I have to reboot to fix it. In game sounds are sometimes broken as well.

I've also experienced the PunkBuster error on multiple occasions and the temporary freezing experienced by other users (I've not had any problems with the mounted weapons).

Far Cry 2 from Steam
Vista 64bit
AMD Athlon FX-62
NForce 590SLI motherboard
4GB (2x2GB DDR2)
Geforce 8800GTX (newest "Far Cry 2" beta drivers)
Auzentech X-Plosion 7.1 Gold (newest drivers).

I got an realy realy annoying bug on FC2. After you CTRL+Tab out of the game it wont wana go back on full screen mode anymore. And thers no setup option for full screen it did work fine on full as long i dident tab out of the game now i cant get it back to full screen.

Thanks for posible assistance

I have GF8800 GT and 2x acer x243w sceens on and it has been cousing scaling problems before but usualy cliking the full screen button helps.

Ps still not fixed could not find console commands for any fullscreen/windowed adjusting.

And for the Securom thers always other ways around it its porpuse is not to protect game makers form piracy. it is to make legit game buyers life harder and second hand gaiming eaven harder. Nothing wrong to crak your legit game to get it work Smile

But anyways Any helps on the Windowed mode commands? Just want it back to full screen game works 100% fine if you dont count the idotic AI.

Why thers no option button for full screen and windowed? Just wandering where did they loose it.

And after all this makes me wander why they think peapole wana buy fewer games nowdays than before atleast there was option for fullscreen usualy on the old good days...

Two major bugs so far, playing on 1280x1024 with a NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GX2 on a Nforce 790i motherboard:

1) When loading a level/save, there is a 50/50 chance the textured will become curropted and colors will display wrong

2) Exiting the game causes the display driver to fail (missing desktop icons, black start menu bar, a system beep, then nothing happens on the screen). I can confirm the PC itself still functions, but the screen refuses to update.

In both instances, I'm using the current WHQL driver (Released on the 15th), and can confirm the issue existed in the previous version as well.

Also, one other bug, although I don't think its an ubisoft issue, but deserves to come up.

My Creative X-Fi ExtremeGamer soundcard crackles badly and starts to drop sounds after a few minutes of gameplay. My Realtek onboard sound works fine. I will also point out that I had the same exact issue with Crysis, with no known fix at this point (including manually assigning the number of sound channels).

Thats all for now. The first two bugs need to be investiaged ASAP, as I can't play the game in its current form...

EDIT:

Forgot to mention, all video options are on their max allowed settings.
