I get a message that says "Failed to download map" every time i join a game with a custom map. Why is this? How do I fix this?

If it matters, I'm using Windows 7.

I have not been able to download one custom map. The only time I can play online is when stock maps are being hosted.

Heard from a dude in our clan about that too. You don't seem to be able to DL maps at all in Win7 for some reason.

"Win 7 isn't supported" means "this game will die when enough people get win 7"... How about a patch?!? There are like a thousand other things that need fixing anyway, like fire crashing dedi servers for starters.

I remember back before we got a "crack" built into the game with 1.03 (when the copy protection suddenly went away) that there was a statement about how ubi was committed to letting us enjoy the game for all future or something like that. "For all future" means "until some other software forces us to install windows 7" apparently.

I find really funny, that its clear for all of us, but not for UBI. How the hell they can keep selling this game without make it works with new operating system which seems to be very popular, not only beacuse you can migrate from Vista to W7 for free...?!?!?
So come on UBI - say it openly, if you really want to kill this game very quickly or if you going to do what all creditable producer should find necessary to do...
And sorry Black_Widow9 - but that smilley you used irritate me a bit, you maybe better use smth like

I too am having the Win 7 DL map issue.
I spent a week getting the dedicated server running and had to actually run it on a XP virtual machine because WIN 7 and FC2 Dedi is a no dice situation.
I will not be buying anymore Ubisoft products "EVER". There is no support, in every sense of the word.

Hi All
Unfortunately Ubisoft and Dice go way back and they have a poor record of offering everything and cut and running after they publish a game.

In this case win7 obviously came out after fC2 they would take the easy road and say that win7 is not supported. Seemingly oblivious to the negative effect to the games future.

Ubisoft probably has no developers left on/from the FC2 project and would have a PR monkeys to cushion the blow that FC2 and win7 is not an option.
Ubi cannot complete against the might that is win7 marketing.

Ubisoft if you stick your head in the sand long enough your ARSE will get kicked eventually..

If you have no body left to develop a patch for this then release the source code to those that can rather than standing by and watching a very cool MP platform/scene go down the drain..
