Yeah, Max Payne was the second game I got, with Kiss psycho circus being the first-don't laugh, I still play that one, lol. I'm not really into wargames as much as I am of the games I listed, but I have played aliens vs predator(came out in 2001), and will try out the new improved version that is coming out soon. Also can't forget serious sam. I know that croteam is reissuing the first game, don't know when though. Take care.

Yes, who can forget the Classic SERIOUS SAM and the entire series ? These are real 'Old-School' First Person Shooters, in league of old games like Duke Nukem 3D, Hexen, Heretic, Doom, Quake etc., which gave Birth to the FPS genre.

Yup, the new Serious Sam HD (first title) was delayed for 2-3 months, but hopefully it should be out by end of this year for sure. I confirmed this from the DEVs. Can't wait to lay my hands on it.

But again you are 'missing' something if you are not playing Far Cry 2. I know it's hard for you to shell out money and upgrade your GPU, but as you told you don't like War Games, then FC2 will suit your style perfectly IMHO. No need to hurry/rush in this game. You can mould this game according to your needs, but you need a LOT of patience. You will feel immersed in the game. Awesome graphics/Visuals. Though I accept it contains few minor bugs/glitches, but so does every title out there. Anyhow it's your wish.

Far Cry 2 has that kind of originality which has NEVER been implemented in any FPS till date. No shooter has done it before.

OH, One very important point I forgot to mention about Far Cry 2. As you know that FC2 has much originality in terms of gameplay, and which was NEVER implemented in any FPS before.

So, that's the main reason why it failed to get much success, because the gamers and the community were NOT used to this kind of gameplay. And Far Cry 2 had a longer 'learning curve' than other titles. NO offense, but the gamers had adapted themselves too much to the 'stereotypical' gameplay of Quake 3, cough*COD*cough, Battlefield, UT3 and the like. So they were not much receptive to FC2's style, which was 'fresh' and 'unique'.

But despite all this, Far Cry 2 is still on top of the Gaming Charts/Shelves. Because it deserves to be crowned.

Thanks for the post-I did not create the video on Max Payne dancing, I found it on youtube. Yeah, Max Payne, the first game was the highest selling game, or one of the highest selling games when it was released in 2001-Ok, I know your a big fan of Farcry 2, but let me ask you, what originality does it have? Obviously, I have played a little before giving up on it, and honestly I did not like the game at all, before having problems with it, regarding my computer. Maybe its just me, but when-I played, it was repetitive-Yes, I was the one who said on these boards before the game was released that I was anxious to play, but yeah, it didn't grab me at all. Well it's VERY hard for me to describe about Far Cry 2's gameplay, but I didn't post that reply to convince you or force you to play it again. I was just telling the truth behind the game's 'image' which has been made by many gamers. But it's not their fault.

Well, If you didn't like it, then obviously this game was NOT your kinda choice. Far Cry 2 is like, either Love it or Hate it. We can't stand in the middle. It needs to be played with an open mind and careful thinking. But that doesn't mean, others who are NOT a fan of this title are narrow-minded.

Nope. It's just that they are used to the OLD gameplay style, of being led from one checkpoint to another, and like to approach the game in a linear way. But in FC2, you can choose your own will and explore many different ways to accomplish the objectives. BUT you need patience for that.

* NO need to always take out a Guard Post, sneak past them if you can. I always do this. Use stealth as much as you can. Use the environment to your advantage.

* NO need to travel by road. Take the Bus, go on foot, or take the Boat at night. This can overcome the 'repetitiveness' which many have complained about.

* Always take the High Ground whenever possible, and snipe the Mercs. This can give you an advantage in combat.

* No need to always do the missions in the same style. I always do a mission in many different ways e.g. Using Stealth, Sniping, All guns blazing, Kaboom! etc. etc. (LOL). I mean either blast the enemies, snipe them or deceive them, it's your choice. The game won't force you to do that. But doing all this is NOT easy, it requires careful planning and timing.


Actually there is much more to say, but I can't guide you properly. If you found it boring/repetitive, then leave it. But if you ever plan to play it in near future, then try to approach the game in a different way like I wrote above. But if you are NOT comfortable with this kind of gameplay, then don't go for Far Cry 2. I'm not forcing you at all. So please don't be angry with me.

Anyways, forget about FC2. Let's talk about other titles as we were doing earlier. Oh yes, a new FPS 'Dreamkiller' is out. Looks cool.

Thanks for the reply. I'm not angry with you, why would I be? It's just, to me, The Game was:Speak with the UFLL, or the APR, Accept their missions or side missions from buddies, run and gun, drive vehicles, find diamonds,and repeat the same thing over and over again and eventually, finding the jackal. I've seen the ending of the game on youtube where you meet up with the jackal, and do you actually kill him, or does your character die in the game? It's up to you at the end of the game from what I have seen(hint:that may be a spoiler to some others here who may read this). See what I am saying? That is why I thought the game was repetitive in so many aspects-Anyways, yes, I know about the game DreamKiller, and it seems ok. I just bought the game turock, which is ok, also. and lets not forget about doom 3(I still play that to this day). Doom 4 is being developed, from what I heard. Let's hope theres a demo. Yes, the character dies in FC2. Even I didn't get this in the first place (Kinda confused), and had to Google search for more info. But I'm still not sure. In the end you are given 2 options to choose from, and after doing any one of them, the game ends after a short cut scene. What happened to the Jackal nobody knows as such, but he was suspected to be dead in some conflict. Anyways, set aside FC2.

Yup, I have Turok. The dinosaurs are pretty well done in the game. The game is a little tough to beat overall.

Nah, DOOM 4 is not going to be out anytime soon. Not even the Demo. It's still under development and got delayed, as told by John Carmack. Even I can't wait for this, but there is no other option. Hope at least RAGE is out next year ? Even I play Doom 3 occasionally when I get time. Lots of cool MODS out there to try.

Oh Yes, some cool Single Player MODS/maps for Half-Life 2 which you MUST try out, if you haven't.

I'm not sure why 'Doom 4' is getting delayed, but I think the DEVs are trying to make a separate version for the PC, instead of porting the full game. This can also help the game to be modded easily, and they are aiming for this I think. It would be nice if we can also see some 'mods' for the game when it is out. But the exact reason is still unknown, and the DEVs usually don't disclose such things to the community. It's still under development. Maybe we can get an early release date, but chances are vague.

Prey 2 is coming out next year, April 2010. Looking forward for this title.

So have you played TUROK, and did you like it ? And also try playing those HL2 maps which I gave. Pretty Cool Stuff. What other PC titles have you played ? Quake 4, Prey, Dark Messiah of Might and Magic, Gene Troopers ?

Yes, I have played a bit of Turock, and let me tell you, if you have it for the console, even the easy levels are hard. I don't know, I have it on PC, and wanted to try it out on ps3, ad yeah, I keep having to save on ps3, and not PC, lol. Not really into the quake series all that much;just something about it I didn't care for. Prey was good, and let's hope Remedy games releases Alan wake on the PC, and not just x box. I have played 'Turok' and the game was a little tough on some levels, but I used the Cheat Codes/Trainers available to beat the levels/game. I also modded the game files and tweaked the dinosaurs/enemies, and made them move very very slowly (Like snails). So it became very easy to complete the game after that. I have it on the PC. I'm a PC fan/addict and my entire game collection is on the PC.

I personally don't like games which are challenging. I first try to beat them without any cheats, but if the game is very tough, I go for the Cheats/Trainers. For me gaming should be FUN, which I can enjoy at ease, and not fast-paced and hard.

You MUST play 'Dark Messiah of Might and Magic'. It will suit your gaming style/taste imho. A nice adventure and a thrilling gaming experience. I have no idea about Alan Wake, so I can't comment on this one. Hope they release it for the PC.

NO idea about the video limit. I have never uploaded any video, but I think you can break the video into parts, and then upload them separately ? The size limit is 2GB I think.
