well, thanks to the number of JERKS At Ubisoft "Customer Service", and the Game having Numerous Problems with My Computer STILL, Among reading other posts by others having problems also, I see no other choice but to close this account on a permanant basis. I submitted a post about getting Farcry 2 on the ps3, but to my knowledge, no one has answered. Screw Farcry 2 I say-I'm going to go play The Half Life series-Something that Actually WORKS On My Computer. Yes, I realize that game is from 2004, but even still I have had NO PROBLEMS With it, like I have had with this "Brillant Piece of Work" Called Farcry 2. Good luck to all of you other people who may be having problems, and TRYING to get help, becvause your going to need it. 50.00 dollars for a game that SHOULD BE bargin Bin Material. Thanks but No thanks. Half life rules, Farcry 2 drolls. see ya.

This game IS bargain bin material. If you have paid more than 20$ for the PC version in the last month or two, you've been had.
What was your issue anyway? PC? And yes, HL2 and its expansions are the BEST games ever IMHO. Check out Insurgency and NeoTokyo, HL2 mods. Both are free and Insurgency at least kicks butt so far. |

CG,
What exactly is the issue you are having with the PC version? If you could give us more info we may be able to help. As far as the PS3 version, the biggest complaints are regarding the Ranking system, disconnecting of servers, cropped widescreen and loss of XP. If you searched the Feedback/Bug report for that console I'm sure you'd see your answer. |

Black_widow9,
When I would play on the pc, It would freeze to where I had to do a hard boot, and all my drivers are all up to date, and calling customer service was a joke also-they are all rude, one guy told me I had "threatened his job", etc, etc, etc. I just don't want to deal with it anymore, and I have a high end pc. Just for the record, here are the specs: Windows XP Home edition Amd Athlon Processor 64x2 3gb Of Ram Nvidia Geforce 6800gt 512mb of ram Realtek Audio Soundcard Directx 9.0 And Agent007,Half Life series is a lot better than this game is on pc. Sorry I keep ragging, but just frustraed that this game was 50 bucks, and has nothing but problems. Who nees that? |

oops hehe Insurgency...heh I meant Riot Act. insurgency is free too, but not what I meant.
As for your PC, couple things. d 1. the Graphics Card: its at the bottom of the acceptable list, meaning it probably is barely capable of FC2. I bought something similar a few years ago to play Oblivion. It was a huge failure, even though the box said it would run the game. I ended up trying to really turn everything down. It got to the point where I couldnt even see more that 20' or so in front of me in game, the rest wasnt there, just black. Also, it looked worse than a PSOne. I immidiately returned the card and got an 8600 GTS OC. Ill put it this way: I have a laptop with a 9300M GS, 512 mb. It has a tough time playing FC2, but it will. If THAT card struggles, Im surprised the 6800 will even get you playing FC2. 2. Processor: 64x2...what? 3500? Thats the minimun to play this game. If you have the 3500, it still may not be enough. Heres a good rule of thumb: If you barely skate in to meet system specs for the game, it will NOT be a good experience. Time and time again this has happened. At very least, I suggest a 7900 GPU, which will still fight to run this game. The 8600 has a bit of a tough time, but runs it OK. You really need to update your hardware to run this game man I would suggest shopping around for a newer GPU, and for the best experience I suggest at least an 8800. I run a 9800 XLR8 Ultra, and it handles anything I can throw at it just fine. With the recent arrival of the next generation of Nvidia cards, you should be able to find something more capable relatively cheap. |

@ComputerGamer07,
The freeze which you are experiencing can also be related to several factors like in-game settings, sound etc. But yes, your GPU is NOT powerful enough to run this game. Better upgrade it. Though you can make it to run at LOW settings and small resolutions. Try to lower down all the in-game video settings. BTW, some hints worth trying. If none of them work, then obviously you need to upgrade your GPU. 1. First of all have you installed the AMD Dual-Core Optimizer ? If NOT, then grab it from here: http://support.amd.com/us/Page...dc646342f&ItemID=153 I presume you have Dual-core, as you wrote '64x2' ? 2. If you experience any lag and/or in-game freezes, then do the following. Try to reduce the Hardware acceleration slider to 'Basic', under the Control Panel-> Sounds and Audio Devices-> Audio tab-> Advanced-> Performance Tab option. This can also help reduce any kind of sound stuttering. 3. Also make sure you have installed at least Service Pack 2 for Win XP. Must install it, if you haven't. Good Luck. hey guys,
Thanks for the tips, but as I said, I am done with playing farcry 2. Thinking my pc would run this game, I had it built to the specs listed above, only to find out a year later(got my pc in jan of 2008),that it is not powerful enough. When I called ubisoft tech support for farcry 2, why couldn't they have just told me that, instead of arguing? makes ya wonder. Well anyways, back to playing half life 2. Ohand Agent00Kevin, have you played half life 2, episode 2? That is what I am on now. Anyways guys, about farcry 2, thanks but no thanks. Take care. |

Hey CG !,
NO problem at all. After all it's your wish. If you like playing the HL series, then go for it. Even I love HALF LIFE 2. If you anytime happen to upgrade your GPU, then do play Far Cry 2. It's a nice shooter. Trust me. I'm also currently playing Wolfenstein, Frontlines: Fuel of War, Area 51- Blacksite and Alpha Prime. All cool First Person Shooters. Happy Gaming. Yes, I have played HL2 ep 2. It was one of my favs, and I seriously crave some new Half Life action. Hopefully when you get done with that we'll see you playing FC2
As for hL2 material, Steam has tons of totallly free mods that run on the engine. If you havent checked it out yet, its a good idea. |

Hey Guys,
I'll probably upgrade eventually, but as I stated in previous posts, I'm done playing farcry 2. 1-game doesn't work on my pc(was informed by system requirements lad that it would), 2. would have to spend more $$ to get this game to run, and 3-as stated in previous posts, ubi phone tech support are ALL rude, and finally, 4-the game wasn't all that, it was overhyped.Thanks. |

I played FC2 with a 6800GT on my old machine, I could barely get it to work...I couldn't run it on MP at all other than to test it for LAN (that machine had a single core CPU though).
I had a 7950GX2 in my newer machine (AMD 6000+) and it barely worked on that GPU..I had to roll back to older drivers to get that to even work. I finally upgraded to a GTX260 and it works perfectly now. |

Huh. I thought you liked FC2 and are desperate to play it, so that's why you are seeking help here one last time ? Every title is hyped (over/under) in one way or the other IMO. It's all a matter of personal choice/liking. FC2 does contain much originality/creativity than other titles, despite any technical flaws, bugs etc. No title can be 100% perfect. Anyways friend, take care. This message has been edited. Last edited by: KingDaniel0, |

I WAS desperate to play this game, but after finding out a year later that my card cant run this, having to spend more $ to upgrade, after building a pc myself to my liking(which wasn't cheap), and the cost of this game when it first was released($50.00), just isnt worth it. All in all, if I ever get the desire to play again(which is highly unlikely), I'll play it on the ps3. No problems there. Take care.

For the lovers of Valve quality games like HL2, if you haven't played through PORTAL, I would highly recommend it.
It's a short game, but can be found for about 14.99. It's one of the most thought provoking, funny and imaginative game I've played in the last 3 years or so. XP SP2 Intel Core 2 Duo 6600 2.4GHz GeForce 8800 GTS (640MB) MoBo D975XBX 'BadAxe' Intergrated 5.1 sound 3 gig Dual Channel PC6400 DDR2 800MHz Memory Dell 2407WFP 24" Seagate Barracuda 250GB HD 7200RPM SATA "You're not playing it the way UbiSoft says you should play it your way." . |

Yup, Portal is like a Puzzle solving game. A Classic. Though I haven't played it, but heard a lot about the game's design, physics etc. Lot of teleportation to do, with the portal gun.
It was made by students/members of the 'DigiPen Institute of Technology'. This message has been edited. Last edited by: KingDaniel0, |

Off-Topic:
YEAH ! That's the way to go CG. I'm giving My list, though it's NOT exhaustive. Some are lesser known titles. I only play 'Single Player' First Person Shooters, so make a note of that. And I own almost ALL FPS. 1. Project: SNOWBLIND. 2. Turning Point: Fall of Liberty. 3. Clive Barker's JERICHO. 4. Code Of Honor 3 - Desperate Measures. 5. Marine Sharpshooter 4. *Lot of Sniping to do.* 6. Soldier of Fortune- Payback. 7. The Chronicles of Rid**** - Assault on Dark Athena. *Excellent Voice acting* 8. Painkiller + Painkiller Overdose. A new title 'Painkiller Resurrection' is coming soon. http://games.gamepressure.com/game_info.asp?ID=13166 9. TimeShift. 10. Hour Of Victory. 11. Close Combat: First to Fight. 12. Terrorist Takedown 2: US Navy Seals. 13. NecroVision. 14. Cryostasis. 15. Ubersoldier. 16. Commandos: Strike Force. 17. Medal of Honor: Pacific Assault. 18. Section 8. And much much more. Actually I made a similar topic long back at the 'Frontlines: Fuel Of War' Forums. If interested then you can give the following link a read. Thanks. http://community.frontlines.co...ic.php?f=111&t=11067 BTW how's Mirror's Edge ? Is it a Pure FPS ? I think it only involves sequence of jumps, slides etc. ? This message has been edited. Cool. Nice Vid there. Yes, Like I told earlier Mirror's Edge has a lot of running, jumping to do. But a VERY original, VERY creative game. Kudos to the DEVs.
But I just watched the 'second' Part of the Video, and yes, we do have action (Sniping, Shooting)!!. Great. I think I will try this game Asap. Thanks for giving a good link about the game's review. Yup, Jericho is not that good overall. But I just gave the list of the titles I have. No offense, but I personally don't like some of the voice acting part done for it, and it's also tough to beat. But the performance of the game is very good on a PC. Also Runs smooth, given that it's a console port ! |

Hey there KingDaniel,
Good talking to you too. One other game I am looking foreward to, is "Max Payne 3". |
