Hey,

I was just wondering, is there a console command for toggling rain on/off?

I really enjoy playing during the storm... Smile

Thanks,
Take care

Hiya there,

You can actually FREEZE the current time in the game by using the cvar TimeScale.

Create a shortcut of farcry2.exe and insert the following command line parameter e.g.
C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\Far Cry 2\bin\FarCry2.exe" -GameProfile_Timescale 0

The default value is 6, so changing it to 0 will freeze the game's current weather/time. You can also experiment with different values.

But first of all you need to go to any safehouse and adjust the clock time and note the change in weather. Keep on doing this and as soon as it rains, SAVE the game and quit to desktop. Now add the above command '-GameProfile_timescale 0' to the game's shortcut, and run the game. Now every time when you play, you will notice the same weather. Enjoy ! You can also directly use the above command line parameter instead of doing this.

BTW, let me peek into the game's code and see if there is any way to toggle rain. We can easily toggle HDR/BLOOM and LOD. We do have some commands, but they seem to work only on servers/online e.g. *SetSetting weather_type* or *SetSetting time_of_day* etc.

Hope this helps ??

No probs at all.

You can also Fast Forward the time quickly and note the change in weather. No need to go to a SafeHouse. Try some bigger value like -GameProfile_Timescale 500. As soon as it rains, 'save' the game and freeze the time by changing the value back to 0.

Or if you use some big value like -GameProfile_Timescale 100, instead of freezing the time, then the time will fly much quickly. So this way you can also enjoy the different in-game 'weather' cycles, and you don't have to wait much.

Happy Gaming.
