I looked around and there is a million short keyboard commands to operate the jets. Can some of these reside in the joystick? Is a joystick supported?

lol yea i don't know a flight sim that doesnt support a joystick. You basically set it up in the options menu or a software that comes with the joystick. For example i have an X-52 and i set it up with the SST program. And on the side note: there's not that much key commands.
