Thats no way to treat a newguy/girl nevermind new person. The Tomcat is a 2-seater, the pilot sits in the front and the RO sits in the back. How would they model this to be controlled by 1 person? I know games have done this like USAF, but we want realism. The 18 would be nice , but then they would have to do a Air to Ground radar. I/EVERYONE would love to see a 18 in the game, but as of now that will not happen. Maybe in some future sim we will see them.

No longer in the 169th, and happy to be out. Mods can you please remove the 169th from my name

Well here's how I see it. 1. I agree on the F-14 but the F-18 should have been included from the begining as it is the premier multi-role attack aircraft in the US. and this sim has been so under loaded with US aircraft since it was released. hmm lets see I wonder were the most copies of the game were sold...

Exactly, in Russia.

This "should have been done" stuff is pointless as it rarely has something to do with what could have been done. Fact is also that compared to Flanker 2.5, most of the development work for the Lock On release version went into the two US planes.

And I'd consider the F-15E the premier multi-role attack aircraft of the US military Smile

Many people including myself would rather an F-14 to an F-15E. It would take some time and new technology to model an F-14 but I feel it would be more than worth it and the apeal of the sim to the U.S. market would increase ten fold. Not only would it make Carrier operations available to the U.S. it would offer a unique new weapon in the AIM-54 and two seat co-operative gameplay. I really hope it eventually is flyable in a sim like Lock On I doubt that Eagle Dynamics is the right developer as they are Russian and have an unhealthy interest in more modern aircraft(Mig-29K).

Other than not having the F/A-18 or F-14 my major complaint with Fighter Ops is that the adversarial multiplayer is limited to U.S. aircraft vs U.S. aircraft and that is something like Counter Strike withought Terrorists(lame).

I think it is a good idea to fly the F-14 and F-18 in Lock On. Specially the F-14, I always liked the Tomcat Razz

The only way I could see making the F-14 or F-15E possible, is if they made it for multiplayer. You could set up pilot/RIO positions. Not sure what they would have to do, but I think in Janes: Longbow 2, you can fly either front or backseat.

As for some of the other requests... well, I'll leave that up to the rest of you.

I think the F-16C is the premier multi-role aircraft of the US military. The F-16 should have been included as a flyable aircraft in Lock On. Thumbs Up Anyone else agree?

I don't agree with the F-14 because it is being moth balled by the Navy. The super hornet should be included as well as the F-16. That way we get our fair share of the naval action and a few airplanes that are both quite capable of air-to-air and air-to-ground. That is my only complaint with this game. It does give a few U.S. aircraft, but both of them can only perform one of the respective tasks. GO HORNET AND FALCON!

because it won't really be realistic. How could one player play both the front and back seat. Unless the back seat is done in multiplayer or AI. Still...2 pilots means 4 eyes which covers more area. So if you are doing single player, it wont really be realistic.

From how I understand it Lockon was not designed to handle multiple crew positions and it would take a major overhaul of the game engine to introduce multiple stations in a single aircraft.

Not to mention the amount of work that would have to be done to create a co-pilot A.I. that would be up to standards when the player is not occupying a particular seat.

That being said, single seat aircraft are much more likely additions. US planes like the F-16 and the F/A-18 could be done with extensive work to recreate their air to ground radars, but this a system that isnt reflected in any form in the gmae currently. The easiest aircraft for the devs to add would be single seaters that use US or Russian A2A radar or aircraft that dont utilize any radar.

Personally I'd like to see an F-16, but thats just me.

My 2 cents.
