that makes the game perform better. Im running AMD 2800++ 1gig, 9550 and i still get some wicked lag. I know it has alot going on, but I can run janes F/A-18 with max number of wingmen and enemies on highest graphics and not get any lag. I just wish they'd patch the bugs for free, instead of making me buy that firecliff or whatever its called. Oh well, its still an aewsome game, I just ahte lagging out and finding out I'v been SAMed cause I was too lagged to do anything about it.
lol well there is a huge graphics difference between janes f-18 and Lock On. But no patch will fix the lag because there are just way too many things going on such as FM, graphics, enemies...etc. Plus that requires changing the game engine, of course it could be rendered better, but not by a lot. Bottom line, dish out the cash if you want to play it on max setting. However they are making it better with fps with addons and patches, FC gave me a few fps back.
What are your settings? I've got AMD3000, 1 gig, 9800Pro and run on medium settings, 1024*768, plus some FPS saving tweaks and mods in order to get reasonable FPS. If you want to run on high settings, gotta buy a rig that'll handle it.
I run on medium. But I dont think its the graphics that are lagging me out, I think its more the AI and physics engines, since I can run half life 2 and Battlefield 2 on medium (Bf2 on high if i only want to play 32 player games)
I just LOMAC is glitchy and could use a patch. Oh well, I guess every game has its up and downs, and LOMAC still comes out with more ups then downs.
your video card is probably the major factor in why your graphics lag so much. Go out and get yourself at least a nvidia 6600GT or something equivalent. Then you'll be able to play the game nicely.
I can run halflife 2, fear, BF2, america's army all on high settings with a decent fps. I've only got a nvidia 6600, 2 gigs of ram and a AMD 3500. In games like these it's not so much the graphical settings as it is the amount of calculations that the processor has to keep track of. I run Lock On at medium settings with about 30-35 fps depending on the action. That's satisfactory, but to really get it up there you need to have a monster procesor. Like I said it's not so much about your graphics card as it is about processing power and memory. No patch for Lock On could make your processor run faster all by itself. ____ (Hope I didn't just completely blow smoke out of my @$$. If I did, feel free to flame.)
