My sons have been into computer gaming since PACMAN and you can just tell how long I have been around....Well, now I am hooked on LOCK ON.. I happen to buy the last copy in Walmart.. and after playing it I wanted to keep an extra un-used copy just for a backup ! Upon returning to the store I found that the vendor had sent the remaining copies back! Since then I LOOKED in Circuit City, Office Depot , k-mart for a copy- non available....Well anyway I am hooked on Flight Simulators and even more so due to LOCK ON....But getting to the main problem about gaming due to incompatabilties in PC HARDWARE it would be next to impossible to write a Game Program to work on ALL IBM COMPATIBLE MACHINES DUE TO THE DIFFERENCE IN CHIPSETS, AND DUE TO A NEAR IBM DUPLICATION OF THE IBM SYSTEM BUT NOT A TOTAL (100%)...The only Solution would be go to a DEDICATED GAMING PLATFORM (X-BOX, NINTENDO ETC.-I AM NOT A USER OF ANY OF THESE SYSTEMS..BUT ANYWAY IF YOU COULD GET LOCK ON TO WORK 100% I AM FOR IT ! ) I JUST PURCHASED LOCK ON A FEW DAYS AGO , AND I AM REALLY HOOKED EVEN WITH IT GLITCHES AND PROBLEMS. IT IS AN EXCELLENT FLIGHT SIMULATOR WITH UNLIMITED POTENTIALS SUCH AS : INSTALLING IT IN AN ACTUAL HOME TYPE FLIGHT SIMULATOR WITH ALL THE INSTRUMENTATION, CONTROLS ETC. AND USING A DEDICATED SYSTEM FOR ITS OPERATION...WHAT AN EXCITING ADVENTURE ! OR HAVING A CHIPSET THAT COULD INTERFACE WITH THE PRESENT OWNER'S PC....THAT COULD ELIMINATE THE CRUX OF THE PROBLEM....AGAIN I AM NO GURU TO THE GAMING WORLD JUST GOT HOOKED- DUE TO LOCK ON , AND BY CHANCE.....SUGGESTION TO UBISOFT PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE THIS GAME IN THE VAULT OR ON A DISCARD LIST .... THIS IS A REAL GOOD GAME ! AN EXCELLENT FLIGHT SIMULATOR WITH EXCELLENT POTENTIALITIES....I AM HOOD ON THAT SU-27 FIGHTER ! DEVELOP THIS PROGRAM IF YOU HAVE TO PUT IT ON AN X-BOX OR GIVE MORE OPTIONS FOR RUNNING THE PROGRAM...IT IS A WINNER !!!!

The problem with counsel games is that it’s mainly arcade games. A simulator (such as Lock On) will not get a lot of sales there since most people prefer to play some mind-less first person shooter game. That is why PC is the best way to handle these types of games because there are a lot more key functions and joysticks could be plugged in (instead of a game pad controller). I do admit I wish my computer could handle this game, I been playing for about 2 years on all low settings. But I am still loving this game. Next year, ill get a new gaming computer.

lol, im afriad you are a little late on that, Ubisoft left this game the first year it came out. ED (the real developers are still trying to push this game) So far they came out with an addon 1.1 Flaming Cliffs (which is awesome) and its patch. 1.2 Black Shark will come out sometime next year. Anyway…welcome to the forum!

not sure...probably due to lack of sales. And they probably felt the first release was buggy...those idiots...

That's too bad. Frown Lock On is such an awsome game, perhaps the best flight sim out there. Thumbs Up
