Are you getting crashes to the desktop, the 'blue screen of death' or does your computer reboot?

99% of the time it kicks me to the desk top.. and/or tells me that il-2 has encountered a problem and needs to close.

I've reinstalled the game like 100 times.. i've closed all apps while installing... i've installed it to program files and x86 program files... (x86 is were it wants to go on its own).

Did your game work properly before? I read somewhere on these forums that IL2 can be problematic on XP64 but I could be wrong. Be patient, I'm sure someone will come along with some advice for you.

I hope you can get your game going soon.

In the nVidia Controle pannel under the profile for IL2 set these ONLY, leave all others default!

Antialiasing - Mode = Override any application setting
Antialiasing - Setting = 8xQ (or lower if it impacts performance to much)
Antialiasing - Transparency = Supersampling
Multi-display/mixed-GPU acceleration = Single display performance mode

changing anything else than those to anything other than Default/Recomended might only give (more) glitches or/and slow down performance.
All the other settings are set in the Conf.ini and could conflict with the nVidia controle pannel settings.

Here are some tuned down settings wich should run fine on your card.

[Render_OpenGL]
TexQual=3
TexMipFilter=2
TexCompress=3
TexFlags.UseDither=1
TexFlags.UseAlpha=0
TexFlags.UseIndex=0
TexFlags.PolygonStipple=0
TexFlags.UseClampedSprites=0
TexFlags.DrawLandByTriangles=0
TexFlags.UseVertexArrays=1
TexFlags.DisableAPIExtensions=0
TexFlags.ARBMultitextureExt=1
TexFlags.TexEnvCombineExt=1
TexFlags.SecondaryColorExt=1
TexFlags.VertexArrayExt=1
TexFlags.ClipHintExt=0
TexFlags.UsePaletteExt=0
TexFlags.TexAnisotropicExt=1
TexFlags.TexCompressARBExt=1

TexFlags.TexEnvCombine4NV=1
TexFlags.TexEnvCombineDot3=1
TexFlags.DepthClampNV=1
TexFlags.SeparateSpecular=1
TexFlags.TextureShaderNV=1

HardwareShaders=1

Shadows=2
Specular=2
SpecularLight=2
DiffuseLight=2
DynamicalLights=1
MeshDetail=2
VisibilityDistance=3

Sky=2
Forest=3
LandShading=3
LandDetails=1
LandGeom=2
TexLarge=1
TexLandQual=3
TexLandLarge=1

VideoSetupId=17
Water=3
Effects=1
ForceShaders1x=0

PolygonOffsetFactor=-0.15
PolygonOffsetUnits=-3.0

Here is the Conf.ini as i use it:
http://forums.ubi.com/eve/foru...9310655/m/3881068897
(likly to be to heavy for your card but you can always try and see)

After doing that Do NOT go into the games own Video settings or it will overwrite these changes again.

Download (if you have not done so already) Patch 4.09m from here: http://forum.1cpublishing.eu/showthread.php?t=10276

Do you have the AMD Dual Core Optimizer installed?
http://support.amd.com/us/Page...dc646342f&ItemID=153

And the XP 64 bit Driver? http://support.amd.com/us/Page...dc646342f&ItemID=173

Hope this helps.

That CPU temp you gave, is that idle temp or is that as high as it gets when in the game? What are your video card temps while in the game? It sounds like it might be overheating. Also are the cpu and gpu overclocked? If so try again at stock settings and see if it happens again, just to be sure.

Theres an Add function if it does not see the game, browse to where the Game's il2fb.EXE file is and it should see it, if not type in the browse window il2fb and it shoud see it than.

If you want 2 SLI compatible cards it depents on your budget, but make sure you buy cards with Atleast 1024MB of Videomemory

Its a bit hard to advice on that right now since nVidia seems to have stopped making G-200 GPU's so those cards are pretty hard to get.

2x 9800GT 1024MB GDDR3, makes a nice SLI kit already, but if you can i would go for something faster. (best to buy 2 the same cards at once, than you know you get the same revision of the PCB and videocard bios, the more they match, the better they run in SLI)
