Sorry
I did not mean the joystick as in computer hardware. I mean the joystick in monitor.

Unfortunately theres nothing you can do about the position of the variometer except twitch the stick sideways a bit to see it.

It's not an instrument I use for landing, a look out the window tells my if the ground is getting closer or not.

Cheers

Only the 6DOF mod, from aaa site, will help with that. If you get that mod you can actually move the POV in the cockpit and see around the stick.

Links to mods are not allowed on this forum but if you google 'All Aircraft Arcade' you will find what you are looking for.

If you don't mind using mods the UI mod includes 6DOF and a lot of other goodies you will enjoy.

Cheers

I might be weird but I mostly "feel" the plane on landing and I don't look at much except my speed. Practice it until you get 10 landings in a row with no major bumps and you should be fine Smile

Find my missions at Flying Legends and Mission4Today.com.

This mod requires TrackIR hardware to be useful.

Work out your desired approach speed and trim the aircraft so you don't need to pull or push the joystick to hold that speed. Once trimmed, line up the runway then gently adjust the throttle in small adjustments without moving the joystick back or forwards until the near end of the runway is not moving up or down in your windscreen. Then all you have to do is sit back and relax until it's time to cut throttle and raise the nose just before touch down. You should not need the Vertical Speed Indicator (VSI).

In fact, the VSI in this game is just like the real life ones, it takes 5 - 10 seconds to register small changes in rate of climb/descent and is not really very useful for landing as a result.
