Hey guys, hope you can help.

This is a work pc that operates a Zund cutting machine, so there are camera drivers and other drivers that at this present time I do not remember. *The people in charge should have made a backup for this system....guuh*

Anyway, what happens is on boot up, right before it loads the desktop, the system reboots, and it does that on a loop

Safe mode, same thing happens, so I cannot even access that.

Ran a chkdsk using the XP setup cd and still does the reboots.

Any ideas as to whats going on and how to fix short of reformatting? that is an absolute last resort cause if we lose the drivers we need, we cannot operate the cutting machine

I believe you should be able to do a system restore from the repair console (booting from the cd).

Well, the anticipation builds, I gotta wait till my boss, with all the passwords comes back from lunch.......

well, the long and short is, I screwed something in the "DOS" and kinda corrupted the windows installation *doh* (it was my first time attempting this)

So, its reformat time tomorrow and start from fresh, thankfully Im not in trouble as it wasnt my idea to install sp3 in that computer, it was the vice presi's call to do that. Thanks for the help tho!

lol I wish! Its a pc that runs a cnc cutting machine, sp3 apparently isnt compatible with that box. SOOOOO I reformatted, re-installed the controlling software, re-networked it, and all is good again

Yeah, I wuz gonna say, why does a CNC cutting machine need SP3 ffs?!

The Opti Scout software actually requires a pretty beefy system to run it. After reinstalling windoze, I upgraded everything except for SP3, and aside from a few hiccups setting up Opti Scout, so far so good
