I am just getting use to my IL2 1946 program and learning to download missions from other players. Like I say I am new at this type of game. My question is, I would like my German aircraft to be realistic with the swastika markings etc. Someone suggested I download the IL2 Stab program. Being new should I down load this program or waite until I get better at this game, and will the download cause problems with my program, I just got it working great.

I've used Mat Manager to get the Hakenkreuz on German planes. But where this app really shines is in the more realistic markings for all nations.

Is Mat Manager in the IL2 program or is it a download, can you tell me where to find it. Does it work with ver 4.08 and windows vista.

With Stab it goes, if I remember it right :
Start Stab program - select realistic markings - keep the program running - Load IL2 - Exit IL2 - open conf.ini from IL main folder - change ClearCache=0 under [game] - save and exit - exit Stab - Now you didn't need to run Stab, when playing, it keeps realistic markings on as long as you don't clear the IL memory (ClearCache=1 clear it).

Others correct, if I'm wrong, would you ?

edit: it works with 4.08 and thinking it works with vista too. I'm running 4.09b with xpsp2.
