hi folks !
today when I turn on the PC I noted a shield in the rigth side of the desktop, at side of the clock. it says "Windows security alert" I try remove it, but couldn't because I are with a lot of restrictions with my PC after a desconfiguration from the technicians who remove some virus from me. but the worst part was yet to come. when I acess IL2, I noted that yes, I was without any sound ! I try play a music in the Windows Media Player and the same happen. it saied that the Windows was with some kind of problem. following my mother's recommendation, I restart the PC. the shield dissapier, as well as the sound problem with the Windows, but it remain in IL2. please, any ideas ? |

go to the gonfig folder in your IL2 directory and open it. You should find a line that says "Sound use = 1" if its 0 then change it to 1 and then save it.
It sometimes does this and i don't know why. See how you get on. Flying online as [^]Pablo |

thanks for your reply !
I found "fb_sound01.SFS" it goes to 1 until 5. but the option : "Sound use = 1" this I don't find. |

I was thinking, could be my audio board ?
it's strange because it happen with the Windows first, not only with IL2. but the Windows stay normal after I restart the PC, while IL2 not. |

Try opening/edit conf.ini file with otepad or just run il2setup.exe

"[NoSound]
Name = No sound" this is wat I think it's wrong. I try put 1 on the engine sound too, but don't know if I make I mistake, because I don't remember the original numbers rigth now. should I put 0 again ? I fear that this could not be the problem and I desconfigurate other section. please, if someone can give me the original numbers I would be glad. |

Nope, you are going the wrong way here.
Looks to me like you've opened Il2Setup.ini, which is incorrect. Open the file called conf.ini In there, look for SoundUse=0, and if it's present, change to SoundUse=1 (Just like MaxMhz has suggested) If you can't find it, post the entire contents of conf.ini here... In a seperate reply, post the contents of il2setup.ini, the lines you've changed, and some 5 lines before those, and 5 lines after... Maybe we can compare with our versions and see that we can fix yours... Multicontrollered pil2ots in need of tuning sensitivity settings: IL2-Sticks or IL2 Joy Control (By Oleg_BS). the problem came back again.
I go to the config section and the sound use was on 0. I put it on 1 and click to save it, but when I acess the game, there's still no sound. and when I came back to the section it's on 0 again. I click on "save", and remember that when I do the first time it works. there's still the option "save as", wich I also try by don't work as well. damm, wat hell happen with my IL2. |

I restart the PC and the problem was again solved.
I wonder, wat could had cause this problem ? I never had anything like it. |
