Hello

I heard there is a 4.09 patch out or due out soon.

I have looked in this forum but have seen very little to no mention of it.

Does anyone know what the status of that patch is and what it is going to fix?

Thanks in Advance

You should be able to find the 4.09mb beta patch. There will be some new maps and new objects along with the option to increase view distance for terrain and large buildings. No clue when the final will be out but it should also include some small graphics fixes as evidenced by the beta .dll's over at the 1C forum.

Is The 408M patch for the on line version only for IL-2-1946 CD version. My present version is 407M.

I'm asking because I tried loading the 408M on my program and it would not load it to the game folder which is the default set up when I loaded the program from the CD.it loads it to a folder of it's own. Unless I'm doing something wrong in loading it.

Thanks

You should be able to direct it to the game folder manually, if not just copy the contents of the patch folder into the game folder and over-write.

Thanks for the update on the BETA patch..

Is it safe to say there is no status on the time frame of the actual patch?

Not any more. Oleg was essentially actively hunted out of this place. He, smartly, avoids here.

Thanks guys..

So..

What does it say of Oleg's relation ship with UBI if he feels he can not even partake in his own forum?

Just keep in mind if you patch up to 4.09m beta you will not be able to fly on line. They haven't released a 4.09 server patch yet and all the servers on Hyper Lobby still use 4.08m.

And FSFAN I can even speculate an answer to your question about Oleg's relationship with UBI. Happy

Oleg avoiding ORR forum doesn't say anything about his relation with Ubisoft.
It sapeaks volumes about the number of idiots flooding that forum though.

Well there are idiots in all walks of life.

Thus IMHO

It does not make any sense that someone in the right would allow someone in the wrong (aka idiot) to drive them off.

Unless the so called idiot is actually hitting too close to the truth. Wink2

But what ever the reason is.

UBI or Oleg himself should remove the ORR if he no longer participates in it.

In that it gives the false impression/advertising that he does participate.

In that is one of the reasons I switched to IL2 over CFS stuff.

In that folks were telling me there that the developer of IL2 actully communicates with his customers here.

Only to find out that is not the case and this sim has more more input from it's developer than CFS.

Well send him a email if you want to communicate with him.

If you really want to know why he doesn't come around the ORR, just search back over the last four years and read the BS he had to read and put up with from a bunch of "give me this & give me that" BS crowd. Or "this is porked, fix it" BS. Hell I don't blame him and I wish him well. It doesn't take away from this sim or the sim he is working on now.

But you will get more updates from him over at his own 1C forums m8.

I don't think anyone was hitting too close to the truth, whatever "truth" means in this context. I think Oleg has always had an open mind to IL-2's community and if he found merit to some ideas or opinions he has changed the game in the past. Thankfully the vast majority appreciates IL-2 for what it is and many players used their talents and time toward supporting and even developing IL-2 further.
Oleg is his own master. It's one thing to exchange ideas with a game developer, it's a complete other thing to expect him to justify every little decision he makes toward a community and demand things like he was some sort of personal slave. I know the fast majority of this community would not dream of doing a thing like that, but there have been too many exceptions to that in the past. I'm amazed he stuck with ORR as long as he did, and hope people will behave at 1C forums. Once in a while Oleg still answers questions at 1C, although that does not happen as frequently as before. Understandable when you keep in mind IL-2 hass come to it's end and 1C:Maddox is now concentrating and working hard on the Storm of War series.
