Hi all,
I'm new and I like IL2. I would love it if there was some way to change the speed in the speed bar from KM/H to MPH. I have IL2 1946 The Signature Collection. Thanks in advance, Red_Cat_Joe |

You can assign a key to "Toggle Speed Bar" in the Controls. It will allow you to scroll from KPH to Knots to MPH. You will need to do this every time you start the game as it will default to KPH.

Thanks sooooooo much. Can I do the same with altitude?

That control cycles through several combinations. They are: km/h + metres altitude + heading mph + feet altitude + heading knots + feet altitude + heading no speedbar at all If you have the No Speedbar difficulty setting turned on, that control allows you to turn heading on/off, but the speed and altitude information will not be displayed. --------------------- Regards, Tully Joysticks & IL2/FB/PF | IL2Sticks Utility IL2JoyControl Utility | See How It Flies |

Thanks Tully,
I guess that I should have guessed that. Thanks again, Red_Cat_Joe |

Of course none of the settings are right for the Japanese Navy planes that measure altitude in Metres, and airspeed in Knots.
Still, there seems to be little logic in WW2 cockpits in general: the Spitfire retractable undercarriage lever is labeled 'chassis'. (Our American Friends would call it 'landing gear' but that is just being awkward And then there is the Italian reversed throttle (no bad jokes about the Italians here, please). The Germans seem to like to keep Bf 109 pilots awake by moving the instruments around at random, if the sim cockpits are anything to go by. |
