Maybe old info, but I really can't remember...

There's a buddy with XP who installs 1946 from his DVD (4.07) then applies 4.08, he's sure he's doing things right (and it does look so), BUT he always gets a "4.07" version on the splash screen...
He even reformatted the whole thing, but nothing changes...sounds weird to me, but maybe there's something I overlooked...
Do you have you an idea ?

The patch on one of the sites has been repackaged so that it's an extra folder deep. If he has that one, when it extracts it creates a new IL2 folder with all the patch contents inside that one. If he's extracting to his game folder, all he'll need to do is move all the contents up one folder level, overwriting existing files of the same name in the process.
