These wire in "V" are to adjust magnets position?

I see that you are master in use HALL sensors. Thumbs Up

Thank you Sokol1. You work is an inspiration to all modders bow
The wire in "V" is the lever that moves the magnets arround the hall sensor. I´ve got a 70% of the hall´s tour, enough.

Previous Designs

I have been trying to create my own controls for some time. I started by modding an old PSU, adding levers and controlling them with Leo Bodnar's BU0836. The outcome was this:

It was very fun to play with and very immersive, but since i do not have space for a proper arm-rest i suffered from tendon-fatigue Smash . So i my next step was to build something as flat as possible, a bit less "cockpit oriented" and more "desktop oriented".

Flight Console v2

I started designing it in AUTOCAD in order to see in 3d how it would function. After investing about 30 hours in designing i felt that it should be done right and searched for a laser cutter to make the plans real. After a small search, i found LaserMark Ltd in my town. It is a company that engraves guns, airplane and tank panels for the Greek Armed Force:
. Here is a video of engraving of jet airplanes on an aluminum plate: Lasermark@youtube.

I used plexiglas for the construction, because it was easy to find and easy to glue if needed. I used white plexi for the "face" of the console and black for the main body. I covered the white plexi with black self-adhesive vinyl film and then engraved the letters and cut the holes so as to be able to backlight the panel. I used 120 led-strip for light For controls i used once again the much-appreciated BU0836. This is the outcome:

Custom solution for head-tracking:

More photos in my photo-album: Console@Photobucket

Videos in Youtube of console:

PS: The letters look a bit blurry, because i was supposed to peel off the remaining vinyl after the stencil-cut. But i didn't since i am too afraid that i will spoil it. See the detail on "C" of "pit-C-h":

Throttles are easy to build.

I used the BU0836 from Leo and fab the base and lever.

I used a 270 degree turn pot. with a 5/8"knob against a 3" radius wheel, cut in half.

Me as a technoob won't be able to make something like that. But I like to visit this thread once in a while to see all those simpit images.
But do I see something in your comment what doesn't seem to be allowed to mention or to link? Winky

Blink Do you mean the comment about the controller and the engraving company?? I just wanted to present this information, to create a "How to" where people could find solutions on similar projects... If by any mean this is a foul play, i would be quick to change the post! Sorry if i crossed any line.

No, it is the alternative headtracking device and its link. This forum got sponsored or something like that by TrackIr so that seems to be the reason.

Hey all... S!

Does anybody know if the information sent to a FFB stick from the game is different between diff aircraft? As in stick forces between a 190 vs 109 or are they all the same all he way across the board? I have an idea on how to build an electric over hydraulic floor mounted FFB stick.

I am so stealing that console Numca. You should make more of those and sell them for big money, I'm sure you would get at least a few buyers.

LOL! It is a fully automated procedure now the first one is build and tested! The Laser-cutting cost was 90euros (materials included) so i guess it would be a bit pricey.. Tongue
ANy interest??

I am building rudder pedals at the moment. I am trying to build them with ForceFeedback/Vibration. I am using a cheap USB joypad with ForceFeedback to utilize its FFB. More information on the thread: http://forums.ubi.com/eve/foru...9310655/m/3391098447

I will post the results here.

Id like to know What kind of pots are in an X-45 and if there is a wiring schematic out there, my friend want to attempt to rebuild my x45 and get it to run like new again, any ideas?

My throttle quadrant has developed a problem. I use Vishay 10-turn pots for the three trim wheels. The rudder trim has suddenly stopped responding after over a year of trouble-free use.

I've checked all of the wiring and soldering and it's all ok. Which is more likely, a problem with the pot or a problem with the BU086 that it's connected to? I guess the best way to sort it out is to buy a new pot and a new BU086, but if anyone can give me a likely cause that might save me some expense, I'd be grateful.

The best way to sort it out is to swap the fault-suspected pot input with a good one to the BU. If the pot gives good signal in new position, the BU is faulty. If the pot gives faulty input in its new axis as well, the pot is faulty.
Easy Smile

Okay, I have got to the stage to think about making something similar, as it can really help immersion. I have problems finding letters on the keyboard, especially when lights are out Smile

Can you help me a bit by sharinge the types of buttons and switches that you use?

I am specially interested about the switches with safety covers. There are a couple of them I would like to protect that way Veryhappy, but my quick search at Farnell didn't turn up anything useful, there are more than 2000 types Googly

So if you could post or PM me your part number list for the buttons/switches, I would greatly appreciate! Smile
