Looking at it in detail, it seems there might be a small sacrifice to pay, in that it doesn't seem to work well with the zoom function of the 6 dof mod, but i can live without that i think.

Doesn't seem to be the easist thing to set up, but here we go...

No Virus got flagged for me, running AVG anti virus, I'm doing a full virus scan since I've been to the site, will use avg and trend micro housecall and post back results in a while when they have both run their scans.

I downloaded the version 1 beta, scanned the file with AVG, Kaspersky and Trend micro housecall, all of them showed the file to be clean.

EDIT - after visiting the site, I Scanned my system with adaware, avg and trend-micro housecall all the scans were negative for viruses.

anyway, some progress shots, it works!!!!

i have it working with widescreen mod plus 6 dof, although i've dissabled zoom in the 6dof.

I had to use the .98 beta, as v1.0 doesn't work with vista at this time, still a wip.

normal widest fov widescreen

normal widest fov, 4:3

100 fov widescreen

110 fov just for kicks

All i was interested in really was getting 100fov in widescreen, now my wish is true Heart

for those interested,

100 fov = wide

80 fov = normal

36 fov (yes i know) = gunsight

Norton Internet Securety 2009 finds it in a file called RMTE106.EXE, i guess aslong as you dont download the file your self you wont get infected, but Norton reports it as being an extremly rare virus so not sure if everything would detect it.

Ditto with Avira and A-squared, nothing flagged. Probably Norton having a brainfart

Cool, same size monitor as mine. However, I'm confused as to the lack of interest in this thread.

Is there something obvious I am missing?

If there is, i'm missing it to. I thought there'd be much more interest myself, maybe should have posted in general discussion?

I'm now using the new version, 1.02 which works with vista. After using it for a day or so, i can say it's not perfect, in that it will stop working sometimes, but it re-initalises itself when you press the key to change view anyway, so its not intolerable, and i keep a key mapped for the default wide view, so i don't get stuck in a zoomed in view while it resets.

At the moment i think the pro's outweigh the cons, and i will follow the progress of the program, its just really nice to finaly be able to fly in proper widescreen.

I had seen this at Triple A... I'd tried setting it up and while daunting, I missed my 6dof enough to not use this Shady

Nice idea though.

I noticed this while playing around with the delete, end and Page down keys. The end gives you a middle view, delete puts your nose on the gunsight almost, and page down gives you a nice view of all the instruments.
