Hi,
I have just installed the newly acquired MSFFB2 in additonl to my X52 throttle/stick set and wanted to give it a try. It seems that MSFFB is recognized as first device (JoystickDevice0 in settings ini) and X52 is the second device (JoystickDevice1 in settings ini). I have run into the following problems when I fly: 1. First problem - I can not make the game assign the throttle axis to engine power in HOTAS (it should be the Z axis, shouldn't it): a. via the game's GUI - the system does not register the X52 throttle movements at all (although it DOES recognize throttle's other controls: rotaries, sliders, as well as all the X52's stick axes - X,Y,Z-rotation). So I can assign the engine power to e.g. throttle "U" slider or one of the X52 stick axis (X,Y,Z-rotation), but for the life of me I can not assign it to the throttle itself... b. via the settings.ini - If I manually put the following line in the settings ini: AXE_Z JoystickDevice1=-power The game just ignores it and the throttle still does not work But when I unplug the MSFFB, then the throttle's Z axis is being correcly detected by the game (GUI, file) and throttle works as it should. So should I uninstall all the controllers and the game and install them in some diffeent order? What order should it be: MSFFB2, X52 and then the game itself (or some other)? 2. Second problem/question - the MSFFB stick works nicely enough, but I noticed that when e.g. I am flying straight and level, and take my hand off the stick, and then try to turn or pull up, the stick is kind of "limp" - only after a second or so it stiffens and I can feel the resistance, ffb forces etc. Is that normal? I am using Win XP, with the XP's deafult drivers. I do not have any MSFFB2 control software / other drivers intalled. As I really like the way the MSFFB handles, I would not want to turn back to my previous setup, so please help me out... |

I never had that problem. First off though.. see this thread since you said you do not have the profiling software for the MSFFB2.
Secondly see this @ M4T. |

Just a guess: Try no load the Saitek software (SST) - in IL-2 you can assign all in GUI, so you don't need the SST. And/or assign one axis like brake to M$ Throttle and try assign power do Saitek Throttle. Maybe this is interfering with Saitek axis.
This is due the "dead man" sensor in front part of the handle. Think that is normal for this stick. Sokol1 |

Thanks guys,
It worked but I had to re-install everything. I removed all the MSFFB2 and Saitek drivers and the Saited Software. Then I installed everything anew in the following order: 1. MSFFB2 (auto detect by Win XP) 2. IL1946 3. Saitek drivers + Profiling software and profiles I have retained. Everything works cool now, problem solved |

Glad you got it solved, if anyone else comes across this there is an easier way to fix problem 1 (problem 2 is normal). The problem was in the conf.ini one line for the id2 throttle axis was set to all 0's so no movement was registered to assign it, if you delete that line from the conf.ini then you can assign it.
