I have run IL-2 under Hyperlobby with my TrackIR under pre-releases of Windows 7 without problems. However, yesterday I installed the release version of Windows 7 (64-bit) on my main system as an update to my Vista (64-bit) set up. My prior Windows 7 installs were full installs into separate partitions or on other systems.
I have run into 2 problems related to Hyperlobby that I have not seen before. First, when I start IL-2 with Hyperlobby, none of the TrackIR hot keys work so I can't re-center, etc. This works fine if run IL-2 directly (offline and online). Second, I now get the "Do you want the following program...to make changes to this computer?" prompt when I start Hyperlobby. I believe this may have something to do with the first problem. I have Hyperlobby set up to run in XP compatibility mode as Administrator. Any ideas? Hold on...
Do you mean you used the Beta version of Windows 7 before and it worked, and now you installed the Release Candidate and it does no longer work? What "Build" was your Beta version? there are Beta versions with a newer Build than the one the RC (Build 7100) version has. p.s. you dont need to run Hyperlobby or IL2 in compatibility mode. I just installed the RELEASE version of Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit. I have it through the MS Partner Program. Anyway, I had it all working under the Windows beta. I also had the RC version installed and running IL-2 there too, but I don't remember if I ran it with HL on that release.
If I don't use compatible mode HL gets an "out of mem." error on start. I have found that you need to run TrackIR as an admin for the hotkeys to work in Win 7. This certainly applies to me for ROF, anyway.
I think it is Ctrl + ****t for HL to point to the game folder or maybe just Ctrl. Anyway it is on the help section of their website. |

Lol Ctrl + Shift

Farran1966,
Are you running ROF through HL? The keys work fine for me when I don't use HL to start IL-2. bmoffa, set both HL .exe's (there are two in the HL folder) to run as admin as well as the trackIR .exe and il2fb.exe. If that does not solve the issue try turning off UAC.

Tried all that, no change.
For now, I'm just starting my on-line sessions from a .bat file. Everything works fine that way as well as when running offline. Too bad nobody is working on Hyperlobby AKA "EZ1" EVGA X58 Classified Core i7 920 2.6GHz (OC 3.2GHz) EVGA GTX 295 CO-OP 1792MB 6 GB RAM OCZ Gold Tri Channel PC12800 DDR3 1600MHz Creative XFi Xtreme Gamer PCI 4x 500gb SATA in RAID0+1 (Intel on board) Ultra X3 1000W PSU Vista Ultimate 64 SP2 and Winsow7 RC1 |

The only way one of my squadmates could get HL to work with W7 was to install in win 98 compatibility mode!

Let me clarifiy a couple of things: Hyperlobby does run, but get that UAE message when I start HL. If I OK that, I can start an on-line session and play on-line. The only thing that doesn't work is the hot key interface to the TrackIR so I can't re-center or pause the TrackIR in game. The TrackIR hot keys work fine if I start the on-line session without Hyperlobby, or if I just run off-line.

If you are getting a UAC message then you have not turned UAC off as I suggested, turn UAC off and I bet it will solve all the issues.

Turned UAC OFF, still same problem.

I have exactly the same problem, TrackIR works fine until i go and play through Hyperlobby.
I also had the the same problem with Teamspeak, now Teamspeak doesn't minimize. The problem has gone away. I've tried having UAC on and off on all three programs and running as admins blah blah. Still does it. Win 7 build 7100. Formerly |450|Vex |

Similar random issues recently -always ok after plugging TIR out and restarting .Try taking your hat off while loading the server(so no 'dot' to track)...either that works or theres been some kind of 'update' fixes it .

Install ALL programs and utilities that use ini files (this includes trackIr, Hyperlobby and IL-2) outside of /Program Files/. Make a c:/Games/ folder or something and install them there. Win7 still has the stupid "don't touch my ini files" obsession that Vista had.
|
||||

Already done that, and still have the issue between TrackIR and Hyperlobby.

I've been running windows 7 in beta and RC flavors and did not have these issues. There HAS to be a fix to this, if TrackIR and Hyperlobby were incompatible with Win7 then no one would be able to run it.

I didn't have this problem when I was running the RC. It didn't come up until I got the final release. However, for some reason it sudenly corrected itself for me a few days ago. Go figure
