- Low FPS is a topic covered many times and I only wish to find out a specific issue and if others are finding the same problem.
- With the new Scramble feature and either the Bessarabia or Slovakia map selected (allied), I get very low FPS on the ground and near the ground.(high teens!)
- Without going into details of rig, settings etc. (I use perfect and have no problems with the Channel map UI 1.1 Scramble), is this caused by the map detail?
- Fresh install of 4.09 over 4.08m and all setings on NVIDIA panel and Conf file are as my 4.09Beta install that has no problems.

Anyone else suffering?

Those maps are resource intensive I think so maybe avoid them. I've tried scramble on the Slovakia map and it started me next to a town that killed my fps.

I haven't really gotten a performance hit from 4.09 but I do get annoying random stutters here and there now, I wonder if it's a bug or if it's because the game is just more resource intensive now.

From 4.09_Guide.pdf:
quote:

Performance optimization tips
The Slovakia map is rather PC demanding, especially the full version with all objects. To run it reasonably on an average PC, there are several ways to improve the frame rate:
* Do not use extremely high AA/AF settings
* Do not use the high visibility option for clear and good weather, which was introduced in the 4.09 patch. Use the parameter LandGeom=2 (max. visibility 36km) instead of LandGeom=3 (max. visibility 72km) in the OpenGL section of the conf.ini file
* Switch off the shadows for all objects except trees by changing the parameter “LandShading=3” to “LandShading=2” under the OpenGL section in the conf.ini file
* Use Texture compression option in the IL-2setup settings
* Consider using the “Slovakia online” map

Yup....done those.....but my 4.09Beta versions run like silk!!
As you say....maybe the online version is the answer....for the time being!

Edit:- After extensive testing...it is definitely the buildings in both 4.09 "and" 4.09Beta that are causing me problems.

Online version it is!

As noted earlier, these particular maps are resource intensive. It's as simple as that. Some people's computers may not be up to the task.

It certainly doesn't mean there is anything 'wrong' with these maps. Personally, I think the Slovakia map is one of the most beautiful we have.
