Have just downloaded and installed 178.16 drivers.Behold I could not believe the result, had to check and make sure none of my AA and AF settings had altered. Have an increase of 15---20% in frame rate.

These drivers work fine with my 8800GT too. And, things seem a little bit faster.

This is good news guys.

I'm from the ATI side of the tracks and just recently got back to NVIDIA. Is there a program that will wipe out the old Drivers like DEtomator Destroyer used to for the ATI line?

I had some directions that showed the step by step process. Is there anything in existance for these type?

Thanks,

I have positive result with this driver, around 10% FPS improvement and IQ may be improved also. So i think it is a keeper!

Although I still have the same bugs that, before running the game in 2560 x 1600, i need to run it in lower rez first, otherwise I will see a significan fps hit. Didn't have this problem in 158.x and before.

I am running a pair of 8800GTXs

hmm...glad I decided to hit up this board today so I could hear about this...

I tried it, seems to maybe help a bit...

noob question: when I install a new forcewear update, what should I do with the older ones still on my computer? just delete them? leave them there?

h009291 talks about 175.16 drivers and RickRuski about 178.16 drivers. I'm kind of confused. Which drivers offer the best performance? In other words, which drivers are all of you talking about?

Installed these 175.16 (no 178.16s exist-typo)NVidia drivers lastnight and they certainly ran fine in IL2 'maybe' slight improvemnets in fps/Image Quality....However .....I just slightly overclocked my 8800GTX and played a few minutes of COD4 and man it looks bloody great .Amazing improvement .Now I know a 25-50MHz boost of graphics card dont look THAT good !!!I can only assume this driver kicks a55 at COD4...

I hit the link and forgot that I had XP-64. If you hit the link below you can get the drivers for whatever OS you are using.

BC I think I know what you mean. I'm still playing around with the Nvidia settings but I have seen sort of 'single glitches' occasionally. Is that the same thing or something different?

I'm on 8AA and 8QAF (hope I've got the the right way round Wink ) so things look pretty good except for far-off shadows on the water like mountains for example - they look like a lot of little blocks and not very realistic. Is this because I'm using Water=4 or something else? Is it one of the other Nvidia settings?

Don't get me wrong, everything is very nice compared with a couple of years ago but there's always room for improvement!

I've seen a new setting in the nVidia Control Panel: Maximum Pre-rendered Frames=3. What does it mean? Which is the better number to use? (It can be chosen from 0 to 8.
