What if you installed IL2 to a Jump drive as main drive, and then you could take that jump drive to school, and open it and click on the Il2 Icon, and then play the game with the keyboard?
Would that work? I better be careful though, I don't want to share the game with my teachers... Being British is about driving in a German car to an Irish pub for a Belgian beer, then grabbing an Indian curry or a Turkish kebab on the way home, to sit on Swedish furniture and watch American shows on a Japanese TV. |

I'd expect your school to have configured their computers not to run software from any sort of external drive. I wouldn't risk it anyway, as you might get yourself into big trouble, and get your drive confiscated.
How about using your time at school to learn some stuff instead? |

Or what if I wanted to bring IL2 to my computer that has internet (the one I'm typing on) so I can Play Online?
I already have Hyperlobby and everything. I realy want to play online. Being British is about driving in a German car to an Irish pub for a Belgian beer, then grabbing an Indian curry or a Turkish kebab on the way home, to sit on Swedish furniture and watch American shows on a Japanese TV. |

Yeah you do, unless you done something thats a bit illigal. I just think its a really strange exuse to say:
You can buy a good DVD Reader/Writer for 20 Euro's and there easy to install. Cant imagine why you wouldnt fix/replace the broken drive. Makes me get the feeling you got a Piracy version and have no disk at all. Camp, please stop posting advise on topics you have no knowledge of, then people who know what they are talking about have to go behind you and clean up the mess. The euro release of 1946 has securom and needs the disc in to play, the US release does NOT have securom and does NOT need the disc to play. Owl, yes, this will work as il2 does not require a registry entry in order to play, I haven't "installed" the game in a long time as I keep a fresh copy of my il2 folder on a DVD and just copy it over if I need to "reinstall". -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Flying online as NORAD_Shinjiro |

Just copy the game folder from the C drive to the thumb drive. No need to install it on the thumb drive, just right click on your game folder and copy the whole thing, then paste onto thumb drive.

Yes, copy the folder from the thumb drive onto the new pc, then go to the il2fb.exe and right-click and select "send to desktop (create shortcut)" and now you have a shortcut on your desktop to play the game. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Flying online as NORAD_Shinjiro |

I know the US version doesnt need the disk... But The_Stealth_Owl has a Dutch Airforce Roundel as a pic on here, wich most likly means he lives in the Netherlands, wich is in Europe so he should have the European version of the Game dont you think? And like you said, it comes with SecuRom, so he would need the disk to play. Just wanted to make sure he doesnt have a pirated version... >>>>> Anyway, just run IL2 Setup and configre it as good as posible (after that you can edit the Conf.ini file to improve graphics a bit if needed) Download HyperLobby from here: http://hyperfighter.sk/ You need to go to the Forgotten Battles room to play IL2 1946. Having a Dutch roundel avatar doesn't make you Dutch. Being Dutch doesn't mean you can't have the US retail version running on your system.
The US retail version isn't the only way to run 1946 without DVD in the drive. too much assumptions. Stealth_Owl can also run directly off the USB drive. It might be a bit slower loading, but will work. Online too.Game performance will be equal as the one installed on the machine itself. |
