Hello, all! I'm actually not new here, but enough of that. Aaaanyway, my Microsoft Force Feedback 2 is dead thanks to a few accidents, and I need a good idea on which joystick I should buy as a replacement. 'Nuff said.

If you a serious flight simmer then spend the bucks & get CH Fighterstick, Pro throttle & pedals...plus a must...Track IR.

If your like most of us & don't have an extra $1000 bucks stashed somewhere, then just start with the CH fighterstick & save for the rest little by little...

If u are a serious then don't skimp! Go with the best and don't look back.

Couldn't say it any better. Though you don't need $1000. $500 will get you all the kit you need. I'd get them in this order:

1. Fighterstick + Rudder pedals (yes, get them both at the same time)
2. TrackIR4
3. Pro Throttle

I agree with most of that as far as the high end goes (except the saitek pedals are better). For midrange prices I'd go with an X52 from Saitek, you can get one from thier refurbished dept for like $65 now. For low budget get the refurbished Saitek Evo Force for $30 or the non-force Evo for $15 refurbed! All of Saiteks refurbished products are great quality, ordered several now. Whatever you do, stay away from logitech!

~S~ Mate,

My opinion...Saitek X-52 joystick.
Saitek rudder pedals,(they're spaced further apart...more comfortable)

TrackIr 4...an absolute must!!

By the way, welcome to the forums!

Track IR (version 3 or higher, the Vector option is great for sims that support more movement than simple up-down and left-right)

CH Products Fighterstick USB

CH Products ProPedals USB

I have not bought a throttle quadrant as I find that the Fighterstick has sufficient buttons and a throttle wheel.

I don't mean to bring back a dead thread, but I figure it is more "environmentally friendly" if I reuse opposed to make a new one.

My question applies to the quote above. Would you still suggest this set-up to this date?

Well Bearcat, you made the suggestion a year ago. I was kind of gearing my question towards you.

I'm asking because I myself am looking for a new flight set-up and after doing all the math, I feel the price is acceptable.

Bearcats advice is still solid, not much progress in the joystick market come to think of it Frown. If money is no object then go for this setup: http://www.valiant-studio.eu/tarmac/html/en/hangar.php
