In these two other threads, one in Community HELP and the other in the Mission Building forum, I asked for HELP with an FMB problem. I received some suggestions.

I have as of today solved my FMB problem, and it had NOTHING to do with any MOD. I did not discuss any MODs in those threads, and I did not attribute my problem to any MOD. Rather I suspected my problem was due to some anomaly in FMB or some mistaken ‘set-up or option' selection by me (which it was, having to do with FMB filter selection, and which I did discover and correct).

However, my original thread(s) were locked by a moderator before I could report my success and thank the various posters for their suggestions (even though none of the suggestions were relevant to the solution which I ultimately found).

My question/observation is: Just because a person just happens to use a MOD of some sort and happens to mention that fact in passing, is it right for this UBI website’s moderators to refuse to allow a thread to address a problem raised by that Member????? Just because a member let's it slip that he uses a MOD, it appears that the moderator’ss knee jerk reaction is to immediately Lock the Thread….telling the member to ‘go back where he found his MODs’ for a solution!

This action seems in blatant and direct violation of the UBI Forum rules established in June 2008 with regard to discussion of MODs. [Again, note that I was NOT discussing Mods…I was discussing FMB, the default original IL2 FMB!!!]
I refer all to the UBI policy on MOD-related discussionswhich was posted by Bearcat in July 2008.

Is the UBI forum now returning to the pre-June 2008 policy, wherein any mention of MODs, however slight, resulted in thread locking and warnings of potential banning of involved members? That would certainly be a major step backwards to the former counterproductive State of Denial with regard to MODs. Imho

Meanwhile, thanks to all those who offered Helpful suggestions in those other threads.

Please take your concern via PM to the moderator that took the action. Or, if you wish PM the community manager. This thread is not the venue to address the issue.

Thanks for understanding,
