I am going to attach my DxDiag.

I have windows 7 rc 64bit

2.66 dual core
8800gtx
4 gig ram
x-fi extreme audio

Il2 use to run on this system with Vista 32 bit

The game runs in single player. I can join servers, but after I select aircraft I time out in every server. I have done mulitple clean installs. I have installed in C: instead of C://Program files like suggested and turned off UAC. Still a no go. Its not my router settings, hence I have tried running straight from my modem. I have turned off Windows Firewall etc and still no go. I spent 8 hours yesterday trying to stay connected to a server. I have seen players than can fly with Windows 7 RC is there anyone out there with any suggestions.

They call me Mr. Pwntastic!!!!

Which 46 disk are you installing from? Maybe there's a difference between the signature and non- signature release. I'm running the rc as well, but havn't gone online with it yet.

Try selecting a difrent Regiment, if somethings wrong with the Regiment file you selected than it can cause the game to crash also.

Otherwise it could also be a network/router/firewall isue.

Sounds like network/firewall issue to me too. When I installed Windows 7 RC, for cross boot, I just copied the entire IL-2 install folder from its location under Vista. Actuall I could run it from the same location but I copied it because I thought I would make changes for Windows 7, but I didn't change anything. Then installed Hyperloby which can be tricky ubder Windows 7.

Check for Spyware or other problems like network card related stuff etc.

How does it do wen you try to download stuff or play an other game online?

Run this: http://www.speedtest.net/
run the recomended (closest) location and the location thats closest to the IL2 server that you play on, i recomend running those tests atleast 3 times to see if the results are the same everytime or not.
If there not you might want to contect your ISP.

I just had the weirdest thing the other day where it turned out that a tinny error in my Regiment file was the problem.
I put in a to high GruppeNumber and that gave me all asorts of weird problems :P

These are mine:

checkServerTimeSpeed=1
checkClientTimeSpeed=0
checkTimeSpeedDifferense=0.05
checkTimeSpeedInterval=5
checkRuntime=1

But did you try to use a difrent regiment or/and skin/aircraft, if you got a coruption in one of them it could be the server kicks you because of the glitch it causes. (server thinks your cheating than)

Also did you install IL2 under Windows 7 or are you trying to run it from a difrent drive? if you did not install it under Windows 7 and are running it from your XP/ Vista install it could give multiple problems because the game than has no Register Keys under Windows 7.

P.S. your not using mods i hope?

The game needs no registry keys, under any OS. I haven't had a registery key for il2 for years now as I keep copying over the same folder from OS to OS, format to format. I run il2 in windows 7 from my vista partition with no issues.

Its got to be CRT=2 servers. SOV, SOF, AAA and WarCLouds all on same server I been told. They run 5 sec of 9% and Not sure but must be CRT=2 and I timeout.

These servers I dont timeout and have tried. UK Dedicated 2, Zekes vs Wildcats and 85FG are 3 I have gotten in and not timed out. I dont know if there is a work around with CRT=2 anyone know.

As I tried to tell you on HL, the CRT (checkRuntime=X) parameter only applies if it is set by the host. CRT=2 uses the more comprehensive check.

What this means is that if the client runs a different OS version from the client, the check may identify this difference as changes in game modules, which may result in a TIMEOUT message for the client. Also, with CRT=2, be aware that certain drivers can also be the reason a client is kicked.

Also, on HL, I noticed that you were concerned about your 'checkClientTimeSpeed=X' parameter. You need to be aware that this setting is for the HOST. The parameter itself means nothing if you are the client.

Just curious, but what is the exact message (if any) you get when you are kicked from a server? Would it be something like this-----> TIMEOUT, REASON 1...?

Good for you, but it doesnt work for everyone, depents on the hardware you got...

Didnt work for me, and didnt work for CrazyClaws, as soon as we installed it under Windows 7 it worked with out any problems.

@VMF-214_Pappy: i check friday if i can join those servers you cant join, have not tried them with my Win 7 install yet, only joined UKD2 with that.

SOV, SOF, AAA and WarCLouds all work perfectly fine here for me under Windows 7, i can join them and fly them fine, no difrence from UKD2.

They work for me both with Vista 64 bit Home Premium and Windows 7 RC build 7100.
