Browse the disk and run A.exe, that should run the installer for the game.

Did the game install and then not run, or does the game not even install? If it does install, what happens when you try to run it?

Hi Urufu_Shinjiro
Thanks for your answer m8 Smile. The game just won`t start. And also he told me that he is just running Windows 7 and that he is not running Windows XP or Vista. What can he do to get the game start at all?

He first needs to run a.exe on the DVD. That will install the game, install dx 9, and run the il2setup program. Then he needs to select his hardware in il2setup. After that he should be able to run the game. With any version of windows newer than XP it is best to create a folder outside of /Program Files/ like c:/Games/ and install the game and any related 3rd party utilities in that folder.

Hi MAXMHZ1959 Smile

Thanks for your answer but i did not quit understand what you ment there m8? You mention DX9 and he is running DX11. So if he is running DX11 and downloading DX9 would the DX9 work then or do he have to do some other adjustment?

Cheers

Well, Il2 is meant to run in opengl, but it can run in directX mode. In order to use il2 in directX in Vista and windows 7 you need to install directX 9c, it will install right next to dx10 or dx11 with no issues. But as I said, il2 is meant to run in opengl.

Dont need to install DirectX 9 on Vista or Windows 7... just make sure you got the latest DirectX version installed.

If you try to run il2 in directx mode on vista or 7 you will get errors about missing .dll's that are not included in dx10 or dx11, installing dx9c solves the issue and they do coexist with no problems.
