Go to www.mission4today.com and look for a guide to il2setup and a guide for the conf.ini file, that should explain what the options there do and let you tweak them as best you can for your limited graphics chip.

That Guide is not really good/complete.
But there is no Guide for the Intel chipsets anyway so you can give things a try. http://www.mission4today.com/i..._Base&op=show&kid=27 Just keep in mind that its not able to run "perfect" on that chip, all you can do is to see if you can make things look a little bit better. Like it says on the box: Mobile version of these cards are not suported... I also strongly advice you to get an ATI Mobile Radeon HD (4xxx) model if posible, they run the game much better. I have the same chip set in my laptop, and the one limitation is the lack of driver support.
It just doesn't let you change any settings to get better performance out of it, probably because its not even in the hardware to do so. I've never heard of being able to change the video card, but maybe this is something newer. Most laptops are integrated to save space and be more compact. If there is a way to change my video card i might attempt it, but i'm not even sure i have the processor RAM to support such a change. For now, i use custom settings under set up, using 16bit compression. I can use mods to get better visual effects but i can't help but wonder how much better those mods might look with better graphics too. Bill |

S3TC used to help quite a bit with performance and not much loss of quality.
Turn on S3TC and you may be able to turn up other stuff. Good openGL drivers rae what is needed for IL2, and I dont thhink the mobile Intel chipsets have very good OGL drivers. What are your PC specs? Is it a laptop or a desktop? ------------------------------------------------------------- "Over Dieppe, the wing was immediately bounced by a hundred FW 190s and a few Me 109s. I heard Johnson effing and blinding as he broke 610 into a fierce attack. I was hard at it dodging 190s, but I found time to speak sharply to Johnson about his foul language." - WingCo Jaime Jameson 12 Group Spitfire |

Hese got a Dell laptop.
On some Laptops its posible to change/add parts including a "Videocard" Its not easy to do, and you really need to be sure you know what your doing, if you never took a Laptop completly apart i recomend you dont even attemt to do this your self (especaily if its a new laptop with warrenty) AMD Athlon 64 X2 6400+ Black Edition, Foxconn nForce 590 SLI, 4x OCZ 2048MB EPP DDR2-800, 2x Club3D GeForce 8800GT 512MB, Be-Quiet 700 Watt Straight Power, Windows Vista Home Premium 64 bit |
