PM sent. My god I wish UBI would issue an official fix, this constant PM is tiresome, lol. Now no one hesitate to ask for the fix, I'm more than happy to send it, just wish it wasn't necessary is all, lol. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Flying online as NORAD_Shinjiro

Don't know if this the same problem. I've tried to install a clean version. ( I have 4.09b1m with U.I 1.1). I copied the exe from that version ,which works fine, but when the clean 4.07m starts to load it gets to 95% and then freezes. any ideas? Thanks

Here's an interesting thing: I too was forced to used this "fix" before, but when the 4.09m patch came out, I decided to do a complete re-install. This time I installed in a different partition (D instead of C) and now it works without the "fix", requiring the DVD to be in the drive and loading just fine. Any other experiences like this? I'm using Vista Home Premium 64.

PM sent. Dirk, that IS interesting. I wonder what was different? Knowing what the issue is I can't believe that it's related to which drive the game resides on, esp. considering I've had my game installed on several different partitions and needed the "fix". I'm not at home and didn't pay attention, did the 4.09 patch come with a new .exe? Also, did you install mods dirk, this can affect the issue as well. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Flying online as NORAD_Shinjiro

No, I haven't installed any mods. I couldn't think of anything different now besides the 4.09m patch. Unfortunately I have deleted the backup 4.08m il2fb.exe so I can't compare it to the current 4.09m one.

I am using Windows 7 64 bit and a legally purchased (in the US, no less) copy of IL2 1946 using Securom. And it doesn't run, of course. I found the fix after reading earlier in the thread and doing some Googling (and thanks for the quick PM, Shinjiro!). And I have to say... Really? I mean, come on UBI, REALLY?!?! You gotta be freakin kidding me. This has been going on over a year (by the age of this thread). Securom denies it. Ubi isn't officially talking about it or doing anything to fix it and we aren't allowed to talk about it openly here. Another shining example of DRM at work, ****ing off paying customers and doing nothing else. Nothing. Thanks UBI. For nothing.
