(you need to copie the whole thing exactly, not just a few lines like Water or Forest, that wont work)


The bottem set of nVidia settings are correct, you could also try to set "Multi Display/mixed GPU Acceleration" to "Single" to see if that gives a few frames extra, and set "AntiAliasing setting" to "8xQ" or just "8x" with my Original posted Conf.ini.

I don't understand it, your settings should yield excellent results but I can't get more than 15fps when I use them. To make sure I wasn't missing anything I cut/paste your settings into my conf.ini file. Obviously the problem lies elsewhere but I'll be darned if I can find it. I'm willing to bet that it's a single setting that is gumming up the works.

Further to my last post, I get the fps slowdown even when I am not over water, i.e. flying on the Slovakia Summer map when I use your settings - which as I said before should give me great results. There is some setting somewhere that is slowing down my rig when perfect water is selected to anything other than 0.

And what happens if your using Water=3 but are looking from externals up so all you is is just sky and the aircraft? and does setting Water=0 make a difrence there also?

Im trying to figure out what might be causing a problem with the game on your system.


And btw. how much RAM do you have in your system?

Yup, setting water=0 boosts my frame rates even over land. Anything else slows everything right down with your settings. Weird huh?

At least I think I'm learning something...

One of my squad mates has suggested that I make changes in the Nvidia control panel in the 'Global" options pane rather than in the application specific pane. I'll try that and see.

I have 4GB of DDR3 ram but I've ben told that XP can only 'see' 3GB of it.

Yeah, some people have been having issues getting profiles to work with the latest nvidia drivers. Try setting multithreaded optimization to off in global and other settings as Camp recommended for nvidia control panel. You may also want to look into nhancer, it's a third party program for making and managing nvidia control panel profiles.

I had my rig back at the shop, I think I have the temps under control and will work on my Nvidia settings. I'm having some comm issues (low volume, lots of static) but I think I've solved that too.
