I'm using an Asus 8800GT 512MB oc'd to 700,2000.

Here are some figures I posted in an earlier thread:

FRAPS recorded Av 62.4, Min 20, Max 117 with Vsync off. Not much difference?

Results look similar to yours, but I'm on higher AA/AF. Some of the conf.ini settings are different, like LandGeom, Effects, VidoeID and also a couple of Nvidia panel settings (like LOD bias is clamped and maybe others, I'll need to check later if necessary as I'm on another computer).

I can try 2AA/2AF like yours and see what I get...

I tested with higher AA and AF settings up to 16x, it doesn't change the fps stats significantly. This suggests the bottleneck is not the gpu. But i don't know how to find the bottleneck.

From other threads it seems people are getting much higher fps out of this gpu with slower rigs (http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/23110283/m/6811010766).

So am I.

My E6600 (2.4Ghz) and a 320Mb 8800GTS have 24 as minimum value in the BlackDeath track.
Running with settings comparable to yours...
But with AF 4x, AA 8xQ.

Just for the record, my bios is all default settings. Didn't flash to the latest P05 bios either. Don't know if that makes a difference, maybe someone with the same board can enlighten us ?

Try with 4xAA and 4xAF.

CrazyIvan posted on 1C:Maddox forums the dll's were optimized for these settings. It might make a difference, but then it might not.
I have more trouble with the max framerate - I would have expected higher. Not that they are bad mind you. A BIOS change should not make a difference, unless it updates the PCIe bus interface. That would be more of a chip set thing though.If GPU-Z says
PCIEx16 @x16 everything should be OK.

If you haven't changed anything in BIOS then the ram may not be running at correct speed and timings. Use CPU-Z to check the SPD (what it should be set to) against what the ram is actually running at. You may just need to set that up and increase bandwidth.

No I didn't touch the ram settings. I'll download cpu-z tonight and give it a try.

I'd like you to install them EVGA drivers again, and re-port a DxDiag Report.
May not help you, but will probably make me learn a bit more on reading DxDiag reports...

Still, those are the ones EVGA advices, so, better stick with them...

No, you don't. The game has its own Java stuff, that's all it needs...
