Total newbee........

First I would like to thank all those individuals that have placed 'downloads' on the various sites for IL2.

Second, computers and I do not get along!

Is there a site that explains where and how to place or download the various types of files? Missions, campaigns, skins......

I've downloaded a 'ton'. However, there are files, such as pictures, maps, mission briefs and so on with no explanation as to where they go!

Campaigns, the same problem. Lots of files and folders, no explanations! Lots of actual historical information, makes for 'good reads', but more often than not, no instructions!

Sadly, this required me to 'delete those downloads' from my system, I've downloaded to many to go through them one by one. I don't load partial files or parts of a file into my system, to many bad experiences in the past with programs hanging up or not working, because of partial or incorrect downloads, which takes forever to figure out and correct. So, even though there where very enticing skins or mission names and maps and pictures, they got 'deep sixed'! Sorry guys!

Any help toward basic 'instructions' would be helpful!

Dennis, as you become familiar with the game folders you'll see how simple it is. To get you started up the learning curve, heres a link you should find useful.

Single missions are done the same way, except the files are placed in the Single folder instead of Campaign.

I'm sure you are right!

It's not that I'm looking for 'shortcuts', my 'computerese' is probably at the lower end of the 'curve', and I just don't have the time to figure it all out from 'scratch'! But the game is to interesting and the downloads to interesting not to give it a go!
