For those of us that prefer our excellent speakers over our crappy headsets, but need comms, is there a solution? Maybe software to cancel out feedback? Throat mike? I've searched the net but found nothing.

What about a USB headset?
Games' sound via the speakers, and comms via the headset...
If your headset has a good quality microphone it will work fine.

I use a setup like that, no complaints, others can hear me fine.
(I run TS on a secondary computer, using a Sennheiser PC135 USB headset, game sounds via a 5.1 speakerset.)

Multicontrollered pil2ots in need of tuning sensitivity settings: IL2-Sticks

they make some fantastic throat mics, you'll need to make your your voice coms volume is up otherwise they'll get drowned out by the engine noise.

This is what I use as well, have a cheap pair of Plantronics DSP500's and they fit loose around the ear so I can hear the game real well and comms come in clear as well.

I use the same setup as FT & U_S - it works well, you don't need any special software to cancel speaker sound.
