Hello I have some Thrustmaster Rudder Control System pedals.
When I give it full rudder on the right, the rudder on the plane only goes about halfway. Also according to my Hotas viewer, the maximum # for full operation for the x and y axis for my cougar joystick is 60535, but the pedal only goes up to 50712, well short of 60535. I am not sure if there is a way to calibrate them, they worked fine when I originally got them as they were plug n play, no setup required. I asked on cougarworld's forum, but the site seems to go on and offline, mostly off, to where I cant ask questions. I figured it would be a more appropriate forum for my question, since its a bunch of thrustmaster enthusiasts. Anyways, they said one of the "pots" for my rudder pedals is probably broken, Im going to take them apart soon to find out whats wrong, but any ideas on where I might order some new "pots" for my rudder pedals? |

You can disassemble the pot case, and wash the resistive trial with isopropyl alcohol, after this test again.
If continue having problems,replace. This HP100 is appropriate: http://www.chproducts.com/shop/parts.html Sokol1 |

You don't figure how remove pot from rudder base, or how open pot case?
To open case is easy, carefully lift the 4 legs that fix metal case in base PCB. These old pedals use 100K pot (B refer to linear type). If you don't find one B 100k in local vendor - search for CTS, Bourns, Alphs brands - get one HP100 (100k)from CH. These last about 10 years... Other option: HALL sensor kit from Cubpilot. http://www.cubpilotshangar.net/page82.html Sokol1 |

Yea, Im not sure what its gonna take to seperate it from the rudder pedal base, and I dont have any tools for bending the metal tabs holding the metal case to the pot.
Looks like Im gonna have to spend $60 on a leatherman if Im gonna get any farther with repairing these. |

This CubPilot tutorial show how disassemble RCS:
http://www.cubpilotshangar.net/page89.html To open pot case you don't need specific tool, just lift these taps whit a tip of small flat screwdriver or knife. These metal are soft. In case of spend 60$ is not better buy a new pedal, like USB CH or Saitek? Sokol1 |

I broke the flat head on my new leatherman wave I just got to fix this, and Im pretty ****ed right now at my lack of mechanical inclination to fix this.
I like the Thrustmaster RCS cuz its got the widest stance of all the rudder pedals, Im gonna sell them disassembled to someone that can actually fix them and buy a new set of RCS pedals. |
