Maybe Fallen Champ can help me with this, since he's done so much with the fcmaps website. I seem to be having a hard time using the Xchange 360. I used the Action Replay extensively to transfer maps back & forth from the Xbox to the PC, and the 360 version seems like it's much more of a pain in the #*% to use.
For one thing, when I transfer a bunch of maps to my memory card, the Xchange360 program doesn't seem to be able to recognize them individually. There doesn't seem to be the intuitive 'drag and drop' that you had with the AR. With this, I have to transfer the entire batch at one time, and it's all one big file on my PC. I really don't want to have to transfer map files one at a time. Also, when I download files from the fcmaps website, it doesn't seem like I can transfer these files directly to the memory card. Do I have to open up the ZIP file first? With the AR, it seems like the process was MUCH easier. Then again, it does seem like everything associated with the 360 has been made increasingly more difficult. Any pointers? |

Hi Brim
I did a guide here, Hope the link works. http://www.fcmaps.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=83 When I was uploading maps to Taylor at fcmaps, I was putting each file in an individual folder with the name of the map and name of the author, This was a pain. But Taylor who runs the site said just zip all the maps up in 1 folder and send them. He gets all the info out of the map file when he extracts the pic and brush set info. Take a look here also, http://360gamesaves.com/ All the info you need or questions answered should be on there. You need to register unfortunately. That Xplorer 360 is just so fast to use. When you down a map from fcmaps unzip the map from the folder, There are 2 bits, You want the one that will look something like this. P20060801307431480024973 (thats the map file) I grab that part open Xpoorer 360 go to Drive - Open - Mem Card or HD - Click through all the folders inside the content folder and just drop the file in there. Then plug in mem card to 360 go to Dashboard - System - Memory - And move or copy the files from Mem Cart to HD in the farcry game saves part. All maps show up there. I only use a usb transfer cable and memory card. It really is easy and fast to use. If you have any problems i will look into it further for you, As i say i have written a guide in the fcmaps.net forums that you should be able to use. If you have a transfer cable you need to get it configured properly - I did not install the software on the disc that came with it. Instead i uses Xplorer 360 It is available for download here http://360gamesaves.com/ under downloads, The site is worth registering as it has tutorials and pictures talking you through the process. Brim If its ok sometime, I would like to get the other 360 maps you made, Then again if you get stuff working at your end you can upload the files also. Taylor on the site has now added gametags for those that have registered at fcmaps.net - you can send messages over live and send friends requests etc / its pretty neat. He is open to suggestions for the site and is looking into doing other stuff, Maybe even making the scoring system for maps a lot better. |

Don't change the name of the file.
I downloaded some of phidaves maps and i mEVIL***** maps from planet farcry, Both had changed the file to the actual name they called the map. Every 1 came up as damaged map when i transfered them over. So if the map is something like this below - leave it that way otherwise you might hit problems. This is how the map files look P20060721119021661022637 P20060861212185048331370 P20060861210205083812860 P20060801307431480024973 They all seem to start P20060 |

This guide is for FarCry Predator Maps on the Xbox 360 - You need a Memory Card and A Data Transfer Cable.
Go to - http://360gamesaves.com/ Register then download Xplorer360 Beta 4 or 5! Now paste in the link below, which is a guide for installing / setting up the transfer kit. http://360gamesaves.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=1013 You can paste this link in which shows you how to transfer from 360 to PC and PC to 360 http://360gamesaves.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=443 Once you have tinkered around a little you should find it simple and fast to use. Right now to the FarCry maps for 360 bit. If i want to transfer a custom map to my Pc. I first go to Xbox360 Dashboard - System - Memory, Have an empty memory card inserted. Now click on the HD - Go To Game Saves - FarCry then select the maps you want to send to memory card, Either Copy to memory card which still keeps the map on your 360 HD or Move the map to memory card, which moves this map from 360 HD to 360 memory card. You can fit about 12 custom maps on the memory card. Now plug the Datel Transfer Kit into your usb port on PC and insert the memory card. Double click on the Xplorer icon you should have on desktop, This will launch explorer. Click on Drive - Open - Harddrive or Memorycard Now select Partition1 - Go into Content folder - Go into next folder (might have a title like this) E00001775A4F37CF - Now go into the next folder (The title of this is your Profile I.D. - e.g. 584107DB - Then go into the last folder which should be titled in 0000000s with a 1 at the end. Your MAPS will now be showing, The names of the map do not show, instead they will have a great long title of numbers with a few letters. Create a folder on your PC and just highlight the maps and drag and drop into your folder, Thats it you now have them stored on PC ready for uploading onto this excellent site. To reverse the procedure, Download the map, if its zipped - unzip into a folder, fire up Xplorer, insert your memory card into the Transfer Kit - click on Drive - Open - Harddrive or Memorycard - Partition1 - Any Folders just keep opening them, Now just drag the maps you have downloaded over from where they are saved and drop them onto the Xplorer screen and it should start injecting the files 1 at a time. When done just unplug memory card from Transfer Kit insert into 360, Go to Dashboard - System - Memory. Move the maps that are now showing under memory card Farcry Game Saves and put them on your HardDrive, Fire up FarCry and away you go, You should be able to select them and Host the maps. Note FarCry Predator for the 360 has some issues 1 of which is the map list, If you get around 70 maps on your map list some of the maps will start becoming unaccessible, These maps are still on your system but will not show up, The more maps you get over 70, the more maps will start not showing up. This is the reason i bought the Transfer Kit, I was sick of deleting maps so i could access other ones that wernt showing up. This above is really really simple to do, After a couple of goes you will be transfering things over in seconds, Its that easy. Also with the transfer kit i got an adapter so that you can transfer your xbox saves onto your 360, There is a guide and forums for everything on 360gamesaves.com I have written this guide while at work, Usually i would be sat in front of the PC and checking every stage, Its that user friendly tho, It should all work fine. ******************************************** Just going over the same subject again, this time in front of the pc. Download the map from this site, Unzip, There will be 2 bits. The one you are after is the map file, It will have a title something like this - P20060510815160441821552 (they usually start with a letter P, sometimes also like this - K20051122213345721422457) Thats the file. Now click on Xplorer 360 (you should have downloaded this from the link) Click Drive - Open - Memorycard or Harddrive - Click Partition 1. Now you should have showing up 1 Folder saying Content & a Text file saying name.txt (Only read this if the content folder is not showing. Basically you need to get your profile id onto the mem card, Easiest way is to go into system - memory - game saves - farcry - now copy a map from the hd and paste it onto the memory card, thats it done. Then repeat the steps earlier) If the content folder is showing Proceed Double click content folder & another folder appears something like this E000017E5A926651 Double click folder & you get another something like this 555307DC Double click that one & another appears like this 00000001 Double click that last and that is where you place the map file, Just drag the file from where you have it and drop it onto the Xplorer screen - It should say Injesting File. When done thats it. Now plug memory card into 360 go to System - Memory - HD - Game saves - Farcry - & Move the file from the memory card to the 360 HD. All done - now boot up the game and you should be able to host the map. I am not aware of the process with the Action Replay Brim but surely it must be similar. Get in touch if you still hit problems and we can maybe talk it through on live step by step. I hope you get it sorted as there are some great maps on the site and they would be useful for your Tuesday night games. Any you could also upload some maps too, You always seem to use great maps in the tuesday night games. If you do upload any, The memory card holds about 12 maps, Fill the mem card with the maps you are uploading, Transfer them into a folder on the PC - zip them up and upload. Taylor does the rest - He extracts the picture out of the file - puts info on time of day and brush set used - and name and author. Hope the above makes some sense. FALLEN |
